I am having a terrible time with my soaps sticking to the molds. I think they are clean and dry before I pour, could it be that they are not clean or dry enough? Any thing I can do to the mold before I pour? Would a little oil ruin the soap if I "greased" the molds first? With a little light oil...

I don't know how to gel. :cry: I will be using a red palm oil. VERY orange result- so I don't need it for color. I may add some anyway to see the result. I guess I will go out to look for a pumpkin pie EO tomorrow :)

I found a pumpkin pie soap. It calls FO, which I am not really into. So I thought about just using pumpkin pie spices. Would that work? Would I still get a good scent?

Well I made my second batch today of milk soap. Like I said use it as my liquid. I do watch the temps very well though. Milk and lye not to go about 100 or below 80. I did have to cool my oils down, they just did not want to come down at first, but I got them down to around 100 also. So far it...

I have made some goats milk soap. The way I was told to do it was to chill the milk and have it in a water bath with ice. Then to slowly add the lye to the milk and make sure the temp was always between 90 and 100. I didn't get a burn. That was my first attempt but I wanted to try some...

Doesn't adding the GM at the end make the soap too liquidy? I really don't know so I am just asking. Or do you reduce the amount of water you use? I will be using fresh goats milk ... well fresh frozen. :)

There seems to be a big difference between the ISN values of corn and olive. What does INS mean anyway?

I am trying to run a recipe I found on line through the soapcalc. I am wondering about INS number means and how can I bring it down? Also if I am using milk instead of water how to figure out how much milk fat I have? If it is whole milk would I just multiply the number of oz x .04? for 4% milk?

If I want to make milk soap, can I just exchange the milk for the water in a recipe?
