    garden abundance

Wow. Beautiful. Didn't have as much luck. I had a lot of animals come in my yard this year and they ate a lot of my tomatoes and cucumbers . Hoping I have better luck next year.

Interesting article about the demise of soap bars

Hello my fellow soapy friends. I came across this interesting article in a Canadian newspaper about how sales of commercial bar soap are declining in favour of liquid body soap sold in bottles. This reminded me of a co worker who told me that her husband is very "phobic" about bar soaps and...

    Saffire Blue excitement!

I placed a small order from Canwax (just needed some Shea Butter) and they had it delivered the next day! (i think they are in mississauga and i'm in toronto). I didn't pay for express delivery, just regular Canada Post. I've noticed that there are a lot of people bad mouthing Saffire Blue...

    My kelp soap stinks

I want to make a kelp/seaweed soap batch for myself but I'm very worried that it will smell bad. Thanks for the tips. If I decide to do it I will add some citrus fragrance oil to it.

Can't belive how many people are copying this Etsy seller..

Thanks for your insight. I just started making soap myself (as a hobby) and wondered what the market was like. I suspected that it is quite saturated right now. A business is always hard work :-D

Newbie--Question about when to cut soap

Hello everyone, Thanks in advance for taking the time to read my question. I'm wondering if there are any consequences to cutting your soap too early? Is it okay to cut your soap into bars and then letting them cure uncovered as long as your soap is somewhat hard and is no longer in the...

New to forum and making CP soap--made my first batch!

Thanks. Yes, I read about cutting right away. I used a mold with individual dividers--so I did not need to cut them, which is why I waited until the next day to unmold. Overall, the soap itself is not too "crumbly"--the soap actually broke because it got stuck to the divider :? edited to add...

New to forum and making CP soap--made my first batch!

Thanks! Was a little nervous about what you all would think about it. Everyone here has posted pics of such beautiful soap. I hope I can eventually get it to look as good as some of the "pros" around here.

New to forum and making CP soap--made my first batch!

Hello Everyone, I have always preferred CP soap and wanted to make it, but was wary about handling lye. I've made other cosmetics such as bath bombs and lip balm, but stopped making them lately. I started getting interested after my favourite seller increased both her prices for the product...
