    Curing Rack Solutions

The plastic bread trays they use at bakerys work great and can usually be found used for super cheap. I think I bought 50 of them for a few dollars each.... and they probably hold up to 100 bars each. They can often be seen behind fast food places as well.

Has anyone ever had issues selling soap? Been sued?

Shortly after getting involved in selling soap, I decided to go back to school for business (to better learn soap business). 2 years later I'm close to having an associates degree, have read many related books and have spoken to a couple lawyers in depth about my plans. It is my opinion...

Piggy Palace (Guinea Pig content) Pic!

Chrissy, They need something with vitamin C in it regularly. We feed ours carrots (which has vit. c) as well as romaine lettuce and green beans every day. They *love* apple, which also has vitamin C and fiber. They also need pellet food and LOTS of timothy hay. I've read not to give them...

    12 Bar Cutter (Project)

I had to recently cut down my mega-cutting table. Not only was it too big for my work space but it also required too much force. I welded the parts I cut off into a 12 bar cutter. I've been asked if I would make these in the past so I'm offering this one up for the cost of shipping (Sorry but...

Can anyone give me a list of stuff I need for a Fair?

It depends on the fair. The application will usually tell you what's included. You usually get a table and a chair, but not always. You usually have to bring your own table cloth, but not always. For electricity you usually have to ask for it in advance and BYO extensioin cords...

    Experienced seller/soap maker question

I can't agree enough about making what people ask for! This is a very important point which is easy to ignore. I stayed away from lavender for a long time because it's a little pricey, but *so* many people asked for it that I had to accomodate........ and sure enough, it's a best seller.

    Experienced seller/soap maker question

IMO, you need 2 different categories.... The ones people expect and ones that surprise them. Everyone wants at least one or two floral scents and some scents like citrus (or similar), mint, etc... But then you also need something that people don't see very often. I don't know what to...

    Just Mystified

Most of my web sales are from folks who've bought from me at craft fairs or people who know me from other web forums. I have gotten very few sales from people with no prior connection, that's true for both my web store and my etsy store.

My first negitive feedback - I am mad

I've had disputes with paypal, and I believe you will win. I'd give her some time to cool off and then re-approach her trying to convince her that you did nothing wrong but would like to make her happy.... and hopefully she'll revise her feedback. If she won't work with you then I would...

How Do You Like Your Silicone or Plastic Loaf Mold?

I've tested numerous materials and mold release methods...... silicone is by far the best I've found. Fiberglass works well too and is easy to buy and make yourself.

Piggy Palace (Guinea Pig content) Pic!

Yesterday we picked up another adult girl. One of our girls passed away a few weeks ago, we don't know how old she was but she was probably 5 or so. A local rescue picked up a 4 year old and she's now here in her new home. We have the girls cage divided into 2 sections so they can't fight...

    The Time Has Come...

Hi everyone! You'll notice it's been a year and a half since I originally posted this. The learning curve has been like a brick wall and it's been a lot harder than I ever imagined. There is *so* much competition and simply having a lower price and good product doesn't seem to mean much...

    Loaf Molds out of Styrofoam

I'm skeptical that it's styrofoam is compatible with lye or fragrance. Maybe if you use some 2 sided tape and cover it with plastic wrap? I also doubt that nailing it together with toothpicks will hold... I'd use packing or duct tape.
