My soaps have " sweated" what does this mean?

I'm having a similar problem. I've made a soap loaf, CP, using olive, palm coconut and castor oils, shea and mango butter. I placed little heart shapes made using clear melt and pour base on top of the CP soap. After 3 days I'm ready to slice my soap loaf but my little hearts seem to be melting...

I was in touch with one company who would test one basic recipe, but allow eight variations, i.e. different colours Sent from my iPad using Soap Making

    Does lemongrass EO overheat easy?

I too have used lemongrass essential oil, and have also put my soap into the oven. I didn't have any problems with it. My soap had palm oil, olive oil, and coconut oil. I'll look out for any probs next time I use it. Sent from my iPad using Soap Making

    Rematch consistency

Tablet? Maybe it's a Scottish word. It's made with evaporated milk and sugar, heated to a soft ball stage (around 240F), then you beat the c*** out of it till it changes colour. Then you pour it onto a baking tray to cool, and you have yummy tablet :)) Sent from my iPad using Soap Making

Thanks Isg, I think I'll try it. I'm only sprinkling it in top, but I'll try it on a small batch first. Sent from my iPad using Soap Making

    Rematch consistency

I did my first rebatch last night. To me it looked like a big pot of tablet, same colour, same consistency. Wouldn't have tasted the same though lol. Sent from my iPad using Soap Making

    Crumbly soap - temperature problem?

I had crumbly soap yesterday. I'd used a recipe with a water discount, and added goats milk powder to my oils. The soap was just too dry. I had to rebatch it last night and add another 5oz water. Cut it today, it's fine. Sent from my iPad using Soap Making

    1st REBATCH - HELP!

Well I rebatched last night, and realised where I went wrong. A couple of weeks ago, I made my first Castille soap, the recipe I followed used a water discount. When I made my olive oil and goats milk, I used the same recipe forgetting about the water discount :/ I cubed my soap and slung it...

    Glitter

I was shopping after work tonight, and noticed a little gift box of nail varnishes with 4 tubs of different coloured nail glitter. Could I sprinkle this onto my CP soap? The one I normally buy online is so much more expensive. Sent from my iPad using Soap Making

    Powdered milk

I made my Castille and Goats Milk last night, it looks beautifully snow white, and so much easier than using liquid milk. I'm converted :) Sent from my iPad using Soap Making

    Powdered milk

Thanks everyone for all the help. It sounds a lot easier than I thought it would be. I made a coconut milk soap a few months ago, and it was a real faff! I had to freeze the milk the day before, then mix the frozen milk with the lye, then keep the mixture really cool in the fridge. Mixing the GM...

    UK Soapers?

I too live in the UK, Isle of Bute in Scotland. I have used Gracefruit, Sensory Perfection, and Summer Naturals. I have to order all my oils and butters online, the only one I can buy locally is olive oil. Sent from my iPad using Soap Making

    Powdered milk

I have some powdered goat's milk. Can I use this in CP soap, and if so, how much powder to water? I'm hoping to make a Castille and goat's milk soap. Thanks in advance. Sent from my iPad using Soap Making
