    Soft soap, how to rebatch.

OK, I searched and couldn't get much help on this, I got tired of reading after several pages of threads. Anyways, 3 weeks ago I made some Peppermint soap. It has 12 oz each of coconut and olive oil and 8 oz each of Wheat Germ and Castor oil and I got the lye and water amount from plugging...

    More Laundry soap Qs

OK, so I tried a recipe in a book for laundry soap. I took 10 oz of my Beef Tallow soap and melted in 40 oz of water (I used a crock pot like suggested on here in another thread). The soap is not fully melting so I got frustrated and turned the crock pot off before bed. I woke up to a white...

    Humidity!

It has gotten so humid the last week or so that my bars of soap that have been curing for 3 weeks have gone back to being damp and kind of greasy feeling!

A different salt soap question, yes there are more of us!

ACKKK! There are so many of us asking salt questions! OK, so I was thinking that my castile soap could certainly use some hardening. Would making it into a salt bar work, or is there some reason I shouldn't do this?

    Almond oil and Walnut oil

My grocery store had some bottles of these on clearance so I snatched some up. I got 35 oz of Almond oil for $14 and 17.5 oz of Walnut oil for $7. Now I'm not completely sure what to do with it. Do these ad a scent? If so what other scents should I ad? Maybe vanilla and call the walnut one...

    Liquid soaps??

OK, so if I can make laundry detergent by melting 10 oz of my tallow soap into 40 oz. of water, then can I make hand soaps or other liquid soaps the same way? I just really am intimidated by the liquid soap making process in the book that I bought and there seems to be a lot more chemistry...

    Wanted, molds

I know this may not be a great place to ask this since you are all using your molds. But I also know that some of you have been buying new molds, so if you have some old molds that would be good for a beginner CPer who doesn't want to spend a lot of money then I'd be happy to take it off your...

    Waxes?

So I'm looking on eBay for some supplies and I keep seeing large lots of stuff with lots of waxes. What are these used for? Is that for M&P, because I am doing CP.

    Will this work?

I made a batch of Tallow soap last night and I was thinking of taking part of it and handmilling it to add cedar oil (that I use in my yard to control biting insects) for a pet shampoo. The dogs already get the oil dosed on them so I know it's safe, but I'm more curious as to whether or not the...

    Curing

Why do the soaps have to cure? Is there anything wrong with using them early. It's been a week and I REALLY want to try some of my new soap. I'm trying to be patient but I don't know if I can handle it anymore.

    Beef Tallow

So I was rendering beef tallow this weekend. I put 8 pounds of beef fat in a roasting pan and covered with water. I put it in a 200 degree oven for 12 hours, then left it on the counter to cool. I finally ended up having to transfer the top layer to a rubbermaid container and adding water to...

    New, and successful first batches!!

I've read on here a bit but only registered today! A friend came over on Sat to make soap and we didn't know what to expect. We planned to do 4 batches then when we go together we started to freak and were saying that if we get one batch done we'll be happy. Turns out we did 3 40 oz batches...
