    Thanks! That is partly what I was wondering. I'm only .8 of a pound shy of the formula I used yesterday but may try a new one today...still debating :)

    Great idea :) hmm. I have cocoa powder...think that would work? It usually discolor to light tan I think.

    Lol, I love that saying, embrace the brown :) and I do love brown soap but was just contemplating something different...I never remember to order the stabilizer!

    I usually make 7# batches of soap. I'm not the best using a soap calc to create a new recipe but I have 2# of lard I'd like to incorporate with a recipe. I have palm, coconut and olive on hand but am not sure how to go about either figuring the % each oil is at or the other calc that you put in...

    Hmm. Well I did try blending but the soap was suddenly at thick trace and you know that doesn't stick blend well :( guess ill know more when I cut it. Darn it!

    So I made soap today with a fragrance, Salty Mariner I think. Soaped at 100 degrees about, blended the soap, divided and colored then put in the fragrance last. It immediately upon stirring in the fragrance the soap started forming small rice like globs, not exactly seizing but the soap looks...

    What else causes soap to crack besides overheating?

    Someone had told me that if you buy palm oil that is non hydrogenated and you don't melt it all before measuring out what you need that could cause it to crack as well.

    Wooden soap dishes

    I'm looking for some wooden soap dishes to sell with my soaps or give as gifts. I saw some on esty and it seems to matter if they are unfinished or have a type of sealant on them and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with either and which one us better? Thanks! Amy

    Pumpkin Pie soap!
