Hmm. Well I did try blending but the soap was suddenly at thick trace and you know that doesn't stick blend well :( guess ill know more when I cut it. Darn it!

So I made soap today with a fragrance, Salty Mariner I think. Soaped at 100 degrees about, blended the soap, divided and colored then put in the fragrance last. It immediately upon stirring in the fragrance the soap started forming small rice like globs, not exactly seizing but the soap looks...

Someone had told me that if you buy palm oil that is non hydrogenated and you don't melt it all before measuring out what you need that could cause it to crack as well.

I was just coming here to post a question about tallow and found this thread :) Anyway I have not used tallow or lard. I have some tallow I would like to use in some soap. Would you say tallow and lard are interchangeable in recipes? I normally soap with coconut, olive, palm and canola...

I'm looking for some wooden soap dishes to sell with my soaps or give as gifts. I saw some on esty and it seems to matter if they are unfinished or have a type of sealant on them and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with either and which one us better? Thanks! Amy
