    lye beads and static

Has anyone else had a problem with lye beads and static cling? When I pour the beads into a cup to weigh, the static is awful and the tiny beads get everywhere. Does anyone have any suggestions to stop the static? Do I put them into another wide mouth container? Though I would rather leave them...

Help! I need soap for hard water

Hello friends, I recently moved and no longer have a water softener. My soaps were wonderful at my old house with the water softener. But now they don't lather well, nor do last very long as I have to use so much to get a little bit of lather on the puff. Any suggestions? My usual recipe is...

    Soap completely changed colors

Here is the soap I made last week. The first pic is immediately after cutting. It had a dark edge to it. The second is a week later. Does anyone have any ideas how & why it changed colors? I used oo, co, Cisco, Shea and cocoa butter, sweet almond oil, castor oil, vit e and French vanilla...

Better pourerrer thingy for my oil?

Poke a hole on the lid opposite the pour spout. That will allow air in and the oil to pour out smoothly. Whenever I get a large container like this, I pour it into smaller, more manageable bottles. KattOBRN

    Dos?

Are these dos? This is 100% coconut oil soap made on 8/13. I had a small square mold I used and had a little batter left over that I put in oval molds. The square mold gelled, the oval one did not (I put it in the fridge). Only the 2 oval bars look like this. I planned on using this soap for...

Sweethavenarts, do you leave water in the jar all the time or just when you need it? Do you let the bar dry in in between ? KattOBRN

    Homemade soap better than Dawn

How do use bar soap as dish soap? Do you grate it up, just rub it on the dishcloth? I want to make my own dish soap, still researching though. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. KattOBRN

    After 9yrs of soaping...

Thanks honeysuds and kdaniels. I too have long kinky curly hair, I do not use conditioner. Every once in a great while I will put straight coconut oil in my hair, leave it in for 30 minutes then wash out. It is a great deep conditioning treatment. KattOBRN

    After 9yrs of soaping...

For my face I like to use equal parts coconut oil and baking soda. It works great. It leaves my face so soft. Would you be willing to share your shampoo bar recipe? I am still working on my shampoo bar recipe. KattOBRN

    Laundry soap

I have been thinking about a laundry soap, and was wondering if a pure coconut oil soap would be ok. Should I add any other oils? Any suggestions? KattOBRN
