Help! M&P What am I doing Wrong!

Sorry it took so long to post an update. I developed Tennis Elbow and couldn't move my arm. I added the Glycerin as suggested, here. It worked! I also let it melt slowly for a very long time. Next I will try melting without the glycerin. Thanks to all for your help/support

    Hello from New York Newbie!

Welcome & Question I have to say I love this Forum, there is a "Gold Mine" of info! All provided by a friendly group of "Soapers". OT: I realize this may be a long shot! But I have to ask: I've been invited to go to Buffalo and Victor (LL Bean) tomorrow, does anyone know if there is a...

What Apps/books do you have on your Apple device for Soap Making?

I only have one Soap Making Book, but would like to have more on my ipad. Does anyone have books, apps or leaflets to suggest? I have credit in iTunes waiting for recommendations. Thanks

    Bath Bomb Colorants

Although I am new to "soap" I have experience with Food Coloring. As a former Wedding Cake Designer, I would not recommend using Wilton Gels. My personal favorite is "SugarFlair" from the UK, just about any Cake Supplier should carry that Brand. Wilton is less likely to be colorfast...

Help! M&P What am I doing Wrong!

Help What am I Doing Wrong? First thank you all for responses/help. If this is "Rebatch Soap". What if anything can be done with it? Is M&P really this difficult for everyone just starting? How do all the YouTubers make it look so easy? Today, I opened a new bag and used only the...

Help! M&P What am I doing Wrong!

@mel z Thank you for your response. The box had "Soap Making Supplies" hand written on it. So I assumed it was M&P, as each bag has about the same amount in them (1.6 pounds). Most of that is the clear stuff I tried melting (like the photo on the left). But there is a small amount of...

Help! M&P What am I doing Wrong!

Need Help Please! @ robtr31 thank you for your response. Unfortunately, there are no boxes or information with the base. We found the individual bags (each sealed with a twist tie) in a big box. There was lots of EO's, FO's and colors too. But I decided not to even try any of that stuff...

Help! M&P What am I doing Wrong!

My original aim was CP, but I inherited (a friends GrandMa) a lot of M&P Supplies. I've been watching YouTube videos and reading here a lot (both methods). Today I decided to try the M&P, I used the microwave, but it never actually melted! It thickened up like Vaseline every time I took...

    Other vendors copying your products

CopyCats I may be new to Soap, but man do I have experience with those trying to out do me at the Wedding Shows (when I was doing Cakes). I have to agree with Nebetmiw, make it a positive experience and take it as "The highest form of Flattery". Your husband is right! Advertise how long...

What made you pick your avatar/ username?!

Intro Hi All, I thought I would introduce myself. I'm a very green Newbie. My Profile picture is from my previous hobby which turned into a business (100% edible and 100% scratch). I remember my Mother and the GrandMa next door making "Lye Soap" which they used and shared for Laundry...

    Natural Laundry Soap (no shredding)

Another Green Question Thanks Hazel. I have a few more "Green" Questions, hence the color. I get stumped by the abbreviations, what is CO and OTOH and OP? Is there a place for Newbies (feels more like a Dummies) like me can look up the meanings? Yet another "Green" Question! : It...
