    New Deodorant

Several of us on another forum have been trying something new as far as deodorant. After widespread testing, there are many of us that have discovered that plain old Milk of Magnesia is a remarkably cheap and effective deodorant! Simply apply after bathing, let dry, and it keeps the stink...

To Our Members in the Pacific Northwest....heat warning!

I've posted this a few different places, so those who are not forumonogamus, please bear with me.....I think it's very important. It looks like we're going to have some brutally hot weather starting Sunday. I have seen models listing the temps from 100 - 110 F thru Tuesday. Just wanted to...

    Random Soap Recipe Generator

Okay, so I shamelessly plucked the link from the CT forums, but this is too cool NOT to share. http://soap.ramified.org/ Every time you hit refresh, it comes up with a unique soap recipe......inspirational and a lot of fun! :)

Tried out my new dryer this weekend....

...and I love it. I bought one of the Hamilton Beach Quick Dry drying stations. It's basically like an open drying cabinet without the heat. A fan forces air through the clothes that are laid on nylon mesh racks and hung on the hanger accessories. The air speeds up the drying time in a...

    Soaping Foibles.....what are yours?

It's been a rough day, so I thought maybe a little levity might help. What are some of your soaping foibles.....the big WOOPSES of your soaping projects? Mine include.... 1) Not rinsing out my soaping equipment before putting it in the dishwasher......made for a VERY clean kitchen floor...

My Heart Just About Stopped This Morning....our bad economy

Well....I just got out of an emergency staff meeting. It looks like we're closing one of our satellite offices. :( It could have been so much worse, with our economy. I still have a job, although my other half is on a "layoff" waiting week. Just wanted to send some good vibes to everyone...

    Hand Crank Washer Update

So, I've used my little gadget for several days now. Yesterday, I washed the kitchen curtains, and it was really fast and painless. While I was washing them, I noticed some silk flowers in the kitchen that were just grimy. I've never been able to get them to clean up well rinsing and hand...

    Gadget Fever

Well....I took a chance and went out and bought one of those little hand crank manual washers.....the ones that use pressure to help clean clothes. I got it last night and tried it out.....it worked just like they said it would. It's small (about half a regular load) but it's so fast (washes...

    Hello....I'm back.

Hello everyone, I was getting very involved in the forum here last summer and fall and I became quite ill. I'm feeling better now, so please accept my apologies for being so absent.

First Batch in my New TOG mold...YAY!

I just unmolded my first batch this morning from my TOG mold. I love it! It was such a pleasure to work with. The soap batch, on the other hand, was not. I soaped cool, full water, and used a new fragrance oil. I hand stirred and 15 seconds later.....the spoon was standing up on its...

I am looking for a good sassafras fragrance oil. I love sassafras scent but don't want to deal with the EO because I know it's toxic. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Rebatching With Milk....THANK YOU!

I just wanted to thank everyone for the rebatching with milk tip. I had an ugly batch of Green Irish Tweed that gelled too hot, and I rebatched it tonight. It came out almost as nice and creamy as cold process! :) I don't think I will be going back to water! Thanks again! :)
