    How Important is Sodium Lactate?

Oh forgot to say, I use salt at 1/2 tsp Per Pound Batch Oils. Dissolve in liquid before adding the lye.

Anyone have a good slow-moving CP soap recipe?

Your recipe only has two oils that you need to monitor the temperature that your mixing at. Once you have reached emulsion, put down the stick blender. Add your FO/EO and hand stir. Separate and add your pre-dispersed colours and hand stir again. If your temperature is below the melting point of...

    How Important is Sodium Lactate?

I have stopped using it as it's a costly expense for me. I have to import it to my country. So I only use it in my lotions and butters. I use regular sea salt in my water before adding my lye and use hard butters and oils up to 40% in my recipes. Soaps release easily from the molds. Saves money lol.

What soapy thing have you done today?

I live in Trinidad and Tobago, West Indies. Finally found a bulk supplier to get coconut oil from by the kegs. I also steamed some of my soaps to get them looking a bit shiney. Placed them in shrink wrap bags (last set as I am changing packaging). I'm about to shrink, label and pack them aside...

How did it turn out for you? I also have some ABS that I want to transform into a bar to help with my marks.

    Mechanic's soap

I thought of using the meat grinder but never tried it lol. I haven't seen or heard any issues with it. Bramble Berry sells it, a lot of soapers use it. It's just like any other exfoliant. Will try out the meat grinder. Thanks.

Tea causes boiling when adding lye?

What are the benefits of using teas in soap making? I'm asking because I'd like to know if when the lye is added to the tea if the benefits of the tea will be lost? Where I live, we use a lot of leaves from trees and herbal plants to make teas and I'd like to experiment with some in soapmaking...

    Mechanic's soap

Wow! Thanks for sharing this. I have been battling with how to ensure my mechanic soap actually cleans and removes oil and dirt from the hands. I was thinking to use the 0% superfat as I really don't want it to be too moisturizing because the purpose is to remove oil and dirt. Your comment...
