    I messed up big time!

Hi, wanted to get some feedback. The other day I made a 100% coconut oil soap recipe that I use quite often. Normally I superfat @ 20%. Well today I'm cleaning the soap station and the soap drippings are like concrete. I'm like "hmm" thats weird. I went back and looked at my print out and sure...

Hey Todd, I was in the same boat man. Had been lurking for a while and decided to take the plunge. The garage has now turned into a place of zen for me. Beer making, coffee roasting, and now soap making! Congrats on your first batch!

    Help with recipe please.

Yes, I used a FO from NaturesGarden. Vanilla Champagne I think it was. Also have another question if you don't mind. I am considering experimenting with an 80% Lard 20% CO but I'm unsure of how to SF? I see some people doing high SF while others lower. Any advice?

    Help with recipe please.

Good morning! Thanks for all the tips and advice. I tried Obsidians recipe, everything went well. Soap was a little soft, but after a few days in the mold was okay to cut. Soaps been curing for about a week now, but I noticed DOS all over the bars. Wonder if the lard was old from walmart? It was...

How soon to unmold and cut 100% coconut oil soap?

I've done it as soon as 5-6 hours after I pour it but most time wait 24 hours. As previously mentioned I just "feel" it. Something that helped me a lot was to start using sodium lactate. It seems to firm right up now.

    Help with recipe please.

Hey all! I could use some help or advice please. I recently made a couple of batches of 100% CO soap SF'd @ 20%. They've been curing for a couple weeks now and passed the zap test. I used a bar on my hands and at first was very impressed. They clean amazingly well but leave my hands very...

    First batch questions.

Did a 3rd batch today. Noticed something weird that I'm hoping yall will know the answer to. I used the same recipe as earlier ( 100% CO @20% SF). This time was with sams club coconut oil vs the bramble berry CO i used last time. This oil (sams club) smelled like coconut, where the BB didn't...

    First batch questions.

Just tried the 100% CO recipe posted above. Much easier time of things! And I didn't get burned! I took all of the safety advice this time! Some things i took note of : 1. Brambleberrys FO's smelled soooo much better than the EO i used last time. Like it's not even close. 2. This one went way...
