    I used one of my lard-containing soap bars for a very special purpose - I wet felted a flower brooch using it in addition to bought dish detergent.

    I don't have an Aloe vera plant but many common houseleeks. Somewhere I read that its juice/gel has similar properties as Aloe vera, only to a lesser extent. So I thought I could use it for soap. Any experience with it anybody? Your opinion will be appreciated.

    I turned 70 in February so we're near. Welcome to the forum! And yes, clumsy fingers are not such obstacle in soapmaking as they are in some other handcrafts. but there are somany left to prqactice that my day is always too short.
