    Working with Discoloring FOs

I have never been in the practice of adding my fragrance to my oils. In my experience, fragrance always does something when added to the batter, and usually it accelerates (even a little), but sometimes it decelerates. In any event I always like to mix my colors, before adding scent. That’s why...

Why would that help? Stick blending shouldn’t affect the color?

    Coronavirus

This is especially funny, because my husband is a doctor also, a retired Psychiatrist. He's heard more than his fair share of my rants in the 46 years we've been married.

    Coronavirus

I can't even. I'm a nurse and we wear an N-95 mask, with a level 2 surgical mask over that, with eye protection, hair covering, shoe covering, gown, and gloves. All this cr*p is hotter than Hades, and the general public is complaining about just putting on a mask - (it infringes on their...

What soapy thing have you done today?

Yes, an even better idea. But many people don't like the idea of cutting up towels - so I suggested paper towels. With the current paper towel shortage, cutting up old towels is a much better idea.

And by metabisulfate do you mean, sodium metabisulfite?

Yes, they play well together but of course they do different things. Sodium lactate helps with unmolding clean crisp edges of your soap, and sodium citrate is a chelator and helps with soap scum. I use both (or in many cases, salt) with all my soaps. Lemon juice does not have as much citric...

    Coronavirus

I live in a 55+ community in South Florida. We were locked down here for about 4 months. And by locked down, I mean all our amenities were closed. Pool, tennis courts, pickleball court, clubhouse and gym. They started slowly reopening in June, and it has been pretty good. Pool, tennis and...
