    Zany's no slime castile

Haha. Thank you SO MUCH for posting this information, @sarahmarah. ❣ I predicted early on, since we have some 500 Lookie-Loos (aka non-members) visiting SMF on a daily basis, that this recipe would make the rounds of soap makers everywhere in due time. Which would be great! I consider it my...

    EO Vendor?

I've never heard of them either. :smallshrug: I've been using Sun Pure Botanicals for many years. Best Price, good Quality, large inventory, women-owned business in NM, good customer service, fast shipping (not counting recent COVID issues with USPS), etc. I recommend them without reservation.

Colorant and Essential Oils in liquid soap

Welcome, Ashraf Emam! It would be helpful if you would go to the Introduction Forum and tell us a little about yourself, especially your level of experience in soap making. That being said, I make lye-based liquid soap, body wash, foaming hand soap, and shampoo. It is best to add fragrance to...

Ohmygosh! Of course! Too funny! Thanks for figuring that out for me. I'm suffering from "COVID Brain" these days due to social isolation, both enforced and by choice as I am at great risk for getting the bug. 😢 Indeed. TBH "jack off" really startled me that anyone would say something like...

    Mens Body Wash

After reading @DeeAnna's post recommending @IrishLass's and @Susie's LS recipes, it occurred to me that the 7% glycerin could be used in the KOH solution instead of adding it to the finished soap. In that case, the % of glycerin would depend on how much is used to sub for the Aloe Vera Juice...

    Mens Body Wash

I agree. This is a good explanation of my method. However, I'm OCD about clarity and recommend 0% SF for that reason, i.e., to saponify all the fatty acids to the degree that is possible, especially if there are fats that contain unsaponifiables which act as super fats, to my mind at least, in...

To answer your question, the factor of 1.37 results in an approximate weight of soap. I've never investigated how lye concentration affects the result. Never even felt the need to. But that's just me. KISS-ing... Keeping It Simple Sweetie. ;)

Cerulean Blue is my favorite color! 😁 Nice to meet you! However, your post will get lost in this thread. Please go to the Introduction Forum and tell us a little about you and your level of experience in soap making. It doesn't matter that you don't have any soap making experience. Most of the...

    Mens Body Wash

Hiya Chappyk! That is a fairly simple formula to duplicate if you have some some knowledge and experience making liquid soap. Here's a link to a Basic Beginner's Liquid Soap http://alaiynab.blogspot.com/2014/07/basic-beginner-liquid-soap-and.html MAKE PASTE: Aloe Vera Juice (3 X weight of KOH)...

A Little Resizing Soap Help Please

I just posted this on another thread. I use Summer Bee Meadows Soap Calculator and Recipe Resizer to do the math for me. First calculate any ole recipe and then use the resizer for the size batch you want to make -- including the size of the mold you want to use. That is so me...

    calculating formulas10

There's a simple formula for guestimating the amount of soap any amount of oils will make. Example: 30 oz. oils (by weight) X a factor of 1.37 = 41 oz. soap (approx) which just fits my WSP 1501 mold. I'm math challenged, so to find out how much a mold holds, I use the resizing feature on...

    Clear, lasting, inexpensive EOs

For a white color base, I use 1 tsp.-1Tbls. white Kaolin clay. It also helps to "stick" the scent and make it last longer. Lard is good for that too. For fragrance, I'm convinced that EO/FO blends work the best for making the scent of EOs last longer. WSP now makes EO/FO blends and I'm slowly...

Check out the Beginner's Forum "Learn to Soap Online" for tried & true recipes and techniques. After a few more batches, you may want to try Zany's No Slime Castile. To save time, money, and frustration, this is a good read for a soaper at your stage of experience: Q: What advice would you give...

What soapy thing have you done today?

TIP: When that happens, leave the SB or Spoon in the batter, set the timer for 5 minutes and walk away. When you come back, the batch is most likely going into gel. Easier to stir and mold up. ;)
