Looking for 1lb and 3lb tall and skinny molds

I feel like there was a T&S trend some years ago and the molds we're everywhere in different sizes. Maybe they are "out of style" these days and harder to find.

Trying to think of a business tagline, any suggestions?

Scrolling back through the thread, I see a couple things: 1. I don't think you confirmed: isn't your line aimed at children? I thought I saw that in another thread? That may change the direction you go with a tag line 2. You seemed to really like Perfectly Pampered or Press Pause. Are they...

    Body butter hard?

Your thread title suggests that it's too hard, but your post says it's the right texture. Can you clarify what you are asking here?

I forgot to add salt & sugar to water, added to oils

If this happens again, dissolve the sugar in a little bit of water and then add it to your oils. Also, salt can be added to your water at any time, but you are right that the sugar will do weird things if you add it into the lye solution.

January 2025 SMF Challenge - Confetti!

Nah-- I'll just wing it and make sure I have an overflow mold, like I usually do. 😊

January 2025 SMF Challenge - Confetti!

So, I copied/pasted the confetti calculator into a new spreadsheet. None of the mathy bits pasted with it, so it doesn't actually calculate anything. Anyone else have the same issue?

Where to get "all sided" molds?

@Vicki C beat me to it. I was going to suggest heading to YouTube and searching for a "How it's Made" video about soap. As @paradisi says, you will need to find a mold that is in two pieces that press together, then you pour fluid batter into them. I think most people that are shopping for...

    Eczema.

Ya. A premade base will only hold a tiny amount of the beneficial additives. Not enough to do anything. Be careful of the mommy bloggers online who advise you to just add stuff into melt and pour or Dr. Bronners. Those soaps can be harsher than you'd expect and their recipes are often not well...

    Are these lye pockets???

No fragrance? No clays? I hear, if it zaps you will know it. You won't wonder afterward if it zapped.

    Misinformation?

Oh, I didn't know about that! We were having a conversation. You were expressing your thoughts and feelings.

    Misinformation?

To me, these stores that sell soap and have people make soap are not geared towards teaching soap making. To me, they are more like the places where you can glaze pottery. Their intent is not to teach you to make pottery-- it's to have an "experience." Like the wine + painting places. You go...

    Misinformation?

I think it's pretty fair for them to not disclose their recipe. I would not expect you to give me yours. Why would they want a potential customer to be able to make it themselves instead of coming in to buy it.

You mean plain wood with a freezer paper liner, right?

What soapy mistake have you made today?

Wow! Looks like no one has made a Soapy Mistake since 2019! 😆 My soapy mistake is just that I forgot to pack any soap before heading to Mom's house for the week! She's strictly a body wash and pump soap girl. My husband and kids are bar soap people, so I'll have to run out and find a couple...

    New Member FO questions.

To avoid overlap, what kind of research have you done already? Did the shop have any notes about what this fragrance oil is intended for? Were there customer reviews about how it behaved? Did you contact anyone at that company to get more information?
