    Didn’t expect this Soapy transformation

Good lord, it's definitely from the same batch of soap. I still haven't used mine, but will take photos when I do.

    Didn’t expect this Soapy transformation

Ha ha ha!! My phone is trying to spice things up. So much so that this is the second time I’m trying to write this reply. Definitely sure it’s the same soap. I only gave them two bars. I have the same Brooklyn tap (cue Sugar Hill Gang) water, so I will just see what happens with my remaining...

    Didn’t expect this Soapy transformation

@DeeAnna I have no experience with color morphing, so I’m probably the one who’s not following. :-) I thought the colors morphed when they came in contact with the high ph of the lye. I didn’t know rap water could do that too.

    Didn’t expect this Soapy transformation

I don’t think it’s a color morph as the remaining bar on my shelf looks like it did originally in the photo. That is why I was so stunned to see the soap at my friend’s house. So stunned I had to take a picture of it. I almost feel like I should take a video when I first use this last bar so I...

Yes, I will do that. Now I’m sad I only have one bar left of this soap. Is this gifter’s remorse? Hee hee.

It’s not soda ash. It looked like this when I cut the bars and didn’t develop the ash. I think I will give it a wash. So odd. Has anyone else had this color “blooming” happen to them?

    Didn’t expect this Soapy transformation

I made the soap at the end of September and gave it for Christmas. I still have a bar on my curing rack that looks just the same as it did in the first photo. So it is something about sudsing it up. I just didn’t know this was a possibility. I wonder if @KiwiMoose has experienced this. She and I...

    Didn’t expect this Soapy transformation

In the fall I tried my first drop swirl. While I was happy with how the swirl looked, I was pretty disappointed in the muted colors. Imagine my surprise when I went to my friends house and saw a bar from this batch in her soap dish. I couldn’t believe how the colors changed. I LOVE the colors of...

What soapy thing have you done today?

You should be excited. Those look great! Congratulations. You’ve just joined the cult. Mwah ha ha.

What soapy thing have you done today?

Freezer paper. Gah! I wish I had thought of using my feet! I think my road to hell is going to be lined with discarded soap supplies. I just want a soap mold that doesn’t bow out (trapezoidal soap bars) and releases the soap. Is that too much to ask? I swear I saw someone using rigid plastic...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I cut the soap I made a few days ago. The hidden feather is actually green because I wanted to make it look like a leaf. I am very pleased with how it turned out. I even like how the one in the front got those extra squiggles which look like flowers to me. The glycerin rivers look way more...

BRV?? Bionic robot vehicle? Bullet riddled venison? Billious rhino vixen? Brilliant red violins? What am I missing?

What soapy thing have you done today?

Made my first soap in my new tall/skinny mold. Tried to do the hidden feather swirl, so looking forward to cutting it.

    DOS in Castile soaps

I thought they were really weird too. I don't want to hijack @Dawni 's thread, but would love to know if anyone has an idea what they are. Is OO more prone to weird issues?

    setting up a work area

I always mix my water and lye outside. I've caught a whiff of the fumes and they are nasty.

    DOS in Castile soaps

@Dawni These are the spots I noticed in my No slime castile. I don't think I've ever seen posts on DWS (dreaded white spots).

    DOS in Castile soaps

I made a batch of ZNSC (Zany’s No slime Castile) and have meant to post because I seem to have light colored spots. Weird.
