I have scoured the internet and found so much contradicting advise on Hot process. Add coconut milk after trace, add right after lye, add after the cook
I thought I would start here and try and save myself some time, if a few soapers comment doing it the same way. Thanks!!
Sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find the post in a search.. But do you prefer to let the lye determine the superfat oils / oil (mystery as to what oils/oil is left?)
or do you choose what oil you prefer and add it after the cook?
Still a newbie trying to prefect the method!
I am wondering how many different recipes do you use on average? I am fairly new to HP and wondering if it's silly to think you can find a great go to base recipe that you can just change the scent, additives like silk fibers or replacing some water with milk, clays, exfoliants, yogurt and so on...
So would this be correct then? Thanks for taking the time to review and help me out!! I changed the Lye consideration to 30% and it adjusted the water. Does this look good now?
hmmm on Soapcalc I adjusted the the water as a percent of oils down from 38% to 30% and it automatically adjusts the the lye.. am I missing something? Help pls.

Ok just to confirm.. change my water as a percent of oils down from the default 38% to 30%? Thanks so much for the advise everyone!! I will be adding the sugar and Sodium Lactate and some colors. My husband has been begging me to make him soap and now I am slightly obsessed lol
Thanks everyone for the response and good advise. Gloopy Good thanks I lowered my CO down and brought down my cleansing # might help my dry skin. what's a good condition number t be at?
I think I will try adding sugar in my water to help with the bubbles. At what number of hardness do you start...
I know it's a personal preference but just curious what everyone prefers for your Soap bar quality numbers. I am still a newbie and haven't figured all mine out yet. So far for winter I know cleansing needs to lower for me. What conditioning range do you guys like?? Making my first batch adding...
I would really appreciate comments and feedback on this recipe. I prefer a low cleansing # it's winter and my 1st batch was 20 (recipe found online - before I knew much) and I find it drying and leaving me itchy.. What do you think of this recipe? I do prefer vegan no animal fats. Thanks in...
