    As there is local shortage for simple candle supplies alone, not to mention dyes, I have a question for chemically savvy person. Is it OK to dissolve aniline based dyes for textile into mineral oil and use this mixture to color paraffin wax?

    Thank you Hazel. Since post I've got some more information. Apparently this classification is based on oil content in paraffin. T-1 having not more than 1,8% (others have more).     Thank you for clearing it out! I was afraid crayons will contain pigment dyes, so purchasing liquid dyes is more reasonable approach.

    I've heard that some candle making hobbyists use wax crayons to color wax for candles. What do you think about it? Are these colored with pigment dyes or wax soluble dyes? Considering that pack of crayons costs 0,5$, that would be a cheap dye.
