October 2022 SMF Soap Challenge – Laminar Flow Swirl

I haven’t made soap in sooooo long! This pour looks pretty intriguing, even though it uses those nasty dividers! I’m so tempted…. You guys are such enablers!

SMF May 2022 Challenge - Infinity Swirl

I tried this last month when I got some sample sets from Nurture Soap. I first used the Brazilian clays an experiment again with palm oil instead of my usual lard, it was such a soft soap! Maybe I will try out my neon sample set for this challenge… 🤔 ETA: after reading more closely, I do...

    Whittany Who?

@AliOop … I have the extra wide 5” Wild Platanica router. You have the 4” router. My tall & Skinny soaps are 4 to 4 1/2 inch tall usually unless I add frosting or embeds on top…. I definitely think it would work on all shapes and sizes of soaps. I even route my round bars! PS… I do love my...

What soapy thing have you done today?

That is my favorite yellow ever!!!! I’ve not yet had trouble with it fading. Nurture Soap list it’s usage at 1-2tsp PPO, depending on need. The top one I used 1.5 tsp PPO, the rest used at 1 tsp PPO. It’s such a lovely color and my fav… but NS Firefly and Full throttle (mica neon blend) come in...

What soapy thing have you done today?

Ha! My Lego milk carton mold support is still sitting on my desk. I can’t get my son to take it apart! Don’t really need it now, I made a wooden column mold to replace the milk cartons. Don’t put it in the oven to gel!!!!

    Keep getting stearic spots, help!

Are you cutting your soaps with a wire cutter? The spots could be air bubbles that are made more visible when using a wire soap cutter. But I do not know much about stearic spots, so someone else should be along shortly help you out more. 🤔🙂

    Its brrr here in Florida

DUDE! Those pineapple plants are defensively sharp and dangerous! I don't move them or my Aloe if I don't have too! Only two of the plants I have now are from store bought pineapples. The rest are from the first one I planted about 3 years ago! But my pineapples are so small, I need to figure...

    Its brrr here in Florida

My mango tree looked like it was gonna be full of fruit this time, but we had frost two nights this past week in central FL… so not sure how that will fair and all 8 of my pineapple plants are turning yellow from the frost. I did not have room inside for them…

    Melting SCI temp?

I always use the paddle, honestly I’m afraid it’s going to bend or damage the whisk attachment in some way, because I mix it all in my metal bowl & it’s gets pretty stiff/ thick after adding melted ingredients.

What soapy thing have you done today?

I always lined Pringle cans as well… I meant sealing the bottom because I cut the bottom of the can off so I could easily remove soap and reuse the Pringle can.

What soapy thing have you done today?

Yep! Just loosen the screw on the metal band enough to pull rubber cap off. Also a little bit of advice… when putting metal band in place DO NOT USE FINGER TIPS TO PUSH IN PLACE… the metal bands are kinda sharp and I’ve cut my finger tips a couple times before learning my lessen and loosening...
