I use Lard from Columbus foods, it is really white and not much smell at all if any. I have some unscented soap that I made with Walmart lard, and unfortunatly, you can still smell the lard. BUT, its a great soap for those who want just a plain lard soap.

I have several recipes that I use, one of which has lard, that I would be glad to share with you if you want. It's in my notebook at the store, but I can get it in the morning. Very simple , but makes a really nice soap that I would put right up there with anyones.

I have made soy candles for about 10 years now. You do need to wick hotter with soy, than for paraffin. Sounds like you just need to bump up your wick size. Also, I use 10% of fragrance per pound of wax ( 1.6 oz per pound). Use really good strong oils. Let them cure at least 24...

For you that wholesale your soap. What is the minimum amount of bars that you will do wholesale ? And the minimum of each scent. I have someone asking about my soaps and I told them 40 bar minimum to get the wholesale price, and 8 bar min of each scent. I don't do batches less than 8...

If you could plug in the exact amount of each oil that you used in to soapcal I sure don't know why it would not work. I premelt big batches of my soap oils, so I don't have to weigh them individually each time. Sounds like it would be the same thing... Vickey

This is the recipe that I use all the time. CO 15 oz Olive 13 oz Palm 10 oz Palm Kernel 5 oz Canola 5 oz This makes 48 oz oils. I SF at 7% and do 35% water. This makes a hard big bubbly bar of soap. I also put 1 TB of sugar per pound of oils, and use Powdered Sodium lactate...

Thats what I have heard....that's why I didn't want to use brewed coffee. I have made it and used Coffee FO, but.....it didn't smell strong enough.

This is probably a crazy question. But could I add a couple of tsp of instant coffee at the end of the soap and still have the same effect as making it with brewed coffee ? I still want to use the raw coffee in the soap for exfoliating, but water instead of brewed coffee, and then...
