It is definitely fresh and summery! The tartness of the lemon balances out the sweetness of the raspberry and I swear you can even smell a little bit of fizzy carbonation, like when you add ginger ale to lemonade (or am I the only one that does that? lol) I think you will love it.

I just made a batch with their coconut lime verbena and it's good, but not what I was expecting. It is definitely more perfumey/citrusy than I was expecting and I smell no coconut in it whatsoever. I was looking for something a bit more coconutty smelling and ordered this one based on the...

Have you ever used the Raspberry Lemonade FO? My last batch was made with it and it smells incredible!

Glitter. I just don't get it.

I think it is amazing how adorable some of the soaps are that people make with glitter and candy and sparkly stuff. Personally, I am a soap minimalist. I don't like the idea of using glitter or food. I don't even use milk in mine, as I like to keep it very simple. I actually am not even a fan...

    I miss Melt and Pour!

I did MP so long ago that I don't even know if SFIC bases were a "thing". I think as I was getting out of it, people had started talking about them. I would love to use one and see for myself how it feels! I have NOTHING left from my MP days - maybe a silicone mold or two somewhere. I guess...

    I miss Melt and Pour!

I have always wanted to learn to make soap from scratch but never dared to, so I compromised and started doing melt and pour, years ago. This year, I decided it was time to take the plunge and learn CP, and I did. And I have had many successful batches and I love my soap and I love knowing...

    Extremely fast trace

Well, it seemed crazy to me because I had never experienced anything like it before! I'm not saying "the quicker, the better" - I like having time to get to know my soap before the lid goes on the pot. I am not glorifying the fastness of the trace. I was just shocked that it would happen so...

    Extremely fast trace

I would be inclined to say it's the high percentage of palm oil, although it's purely speculation based on personal experience. None of my batches have ever traced in under 5 minutes using a stick blend/hand stir with stick blender combination. This is using olive, coconut, castor, lard...

    Speckles in liquid colorant?

I actually went to a few stores today looking for one, with no luck. So I decided to just do it without one and see how it went and it was fine. No clumps at all, and it mixed so smoothly. And I got my soap cutter in the mail today! Yay! It seems like with every loaf, we get about 3 or 4...

    Speckles in liquid colorant?

I just made a batch using powder pigment/oxide, and it was SO much easier. I just mixed it with a bit of oil, with a spoon and it blended perfectly smoothly with very little effort. I think I will definitely stick to the powders! Thanks!

    Speckles in liquid colorant?

I did a search but didn't find anything pertaining to this. I did a batch of soap today and colored it with liquid colorant (oxide). I do HP, and the part I colored was separated from the rest. I had to whip it with a spatula for a LONG time to get it to not look speckled. Then I...

    Should I reduce my water?

Oh! It sounded like there was a personal story about leaving it overnight or something! lol. I definitely WON'T leave it overnight! I would be way too excited to get it out of the pot and into a mold! :)

    Should I reduce my water?

I glop my soap in the mold already as it is. I like the rustic look, which is why I prefer HP. :) I assume there is a story behind the "just don't leave it overnight" comment?

    Should I reduce my water?

I think I *will* try that. I have melted solid fats with hot lye water before, doing CP, so am familiar with that. Thanks for the suggestion!

    Should I reduce my water?

I am not able to lower the temp, but maybe if I turn it off when it first starts rising high like that? It cooks FAST. But you don't think a reduction in water would be a good idea? Thanks!
