    What do you think of this mold?

    For a soap cutter I use a 10" drywall knife: http://www.homedepot.ca/product/10-ergo-grip-drywall-knife/968720 Works real well and is a stainless steel blade. I'm sure you could find something like that anywhere in the world.

    Can I get your thoughts on this beeswax soap?

    The surface texture is one that I will get on heavy olive oil soaps that have been cut a little early. Olive oil soaps can take much more time to set, so your best bet would be to wait 48 hours before cutting if you soaps are mostly olive oil.

    First batch of soap. Maybe a fail

    The stick blender was also suggested by the people where I get my oils today. I'll check the soap until I can cut it, then after 4 to 6 weeks I'll check the ph and see if it is usable. I think I'll try another batch this weekend.

    I finally tried my hand at a batch of soap. I took a recipe that I had for a 12 pound batch and reduced it, and went ahead and started. First problem was that I didn't have enough coconut oil (I didn't double check what I had before I went ahead), and I only realized once I started to mix it...
