    "Earthy" scent recommendations?

A friend of mine was interested in a custom batch of soap -- she's interested in "something earthy, with citrus notes." Thought I'd get some feedback on some good scent options to suggest! I think she'll probably want EOs, but happy to hear suggestions on FOs too. Thanks y'all!

    People scare me!!

I'm a home soapmaker that peeked over the walls to see what it takes to sell soap - and decided hell no. Sounds like a quick way to ruin a fun hobby. Sure, it's be great to make my money back on my ingredients, but to do it legitimately sounds like a lot of work and money. I got in to this to...

    EOs for shampoo bar?

Thanks for the reply! I'm about two months (3?) in to using shampoo bars, and I found that I wasn't using enough acid in my hair rinse. Using apple cider vinegar, it took half of a cup ACV and a half cup of water to make my hair not feel gummy. After two weeks of that my hair was great and soft...

    EOs for shampoo bar?

Where do you find coconut milk powder? I love the egg idea, but I think an egg allergy is possibly to blame for the hair loss. No can do on beer either, I'm trying to keep this bar as allergy/autoimmune free as possible. Definitely agree on your last point! I just need a good recipe to start...

    EOs for shampoo bar?

That's what I get for composing the message late at night! I guess my question is, should I just use EOs? Or will infusing the oils/water bring additional benefits/fragrance? Which EOs/herbs would do best for dry skin?

    EOs for shampoo bar?

I live in the desert and we have really hard water too, although I just saw you can buy water softeners for just your shower head, bought a cheap one to try out and see if if makes a difference. I haven't used babasu before (not to mention sunflower or avocado), maybe I'll give it a try!

    EOs for shampoo bar?

Howdy, soapers! After test running a great shampoo bar, I'm happy with the results I've had with my hair and ready to dive in to making my own. From the Lindy's shampoo bar thread, I'm going to follow this recipe: Water as percent of oil weight: 35% Superfat: 6% Avocado Oil: 30%...

Got a dehydrator! What fun soap-related things can I make?

Thanks everyone! I live in Las Vegas, NV. I have a few rubbermaid tub containers for gardening, but the only decent place I have for them gets full desert sun, so I don't usually have great production, but if I start early enough this year I can probably get some pretty good greens going. My...

Got a dehydrator! What fun soap-related things can I make?

Got a new dehydrator for Christmas - thanks Santa! I'm looking through WSP for the sale tomorrow, and I'm wondering how much of this stuff (lemon powder, spinach powder, tomato powder...) I can make by dehydrating things and grinding them in a coffee grinder? Any flowers/herbs suggestions? Does...

Excited about my first HP swirl!

Nope, no sodium lactate! It's a simple olive oil, coconut oil, castor oil, lye and water recipe. This one I was careful not to overcook it (I think my other HPs I've let go to long and they get dry and harder to work with in the mold, this one was a bit wetter and definitely made it easier to...

Here it is! It turned out fantastic! This has got to be my prettiest soap to date. Very happy :) Now - packaging! Hmm, any suggestions?

Excited about my first HP swirl!

ARGHH!!! This app won't upload it and the forum doesn't like imgur links without the .jpg ending - but it's fixed now, at least. Thanks.

Excited about my first HP swirl!

Just got done molding my first HP swirl and I'm excited about the results! I'll cut tomorrow but looking through the sides of the mold I think the soap is goings look fantastic. Have a look! For inquiring minds, I took half the batter out and colored it with TD, a little TD and red lab color...
