    Liquid Soap Additives

Thanks guys, that helps. I'll stay away from additives for the most part then. That dilution logic is a bit of doozy, I was thinking you would dilute less and salt would decrease lather. This is why this community is so important. Thanks again

What to expect from various oils in ls

Is this Tallow being added after the soap is created ? Or apart of the formulation?

    Liquid Soap Additives

Hi, so I am just getting started with liquid soap and have successfully created a paste. As I am in the experimented stage of LS. I have read alot about thickening, diluting, clarity, and things like that but I haven't seen much about additives. My question is in comparison to bar soap. What...

    Gel like soap

Yea, I tried that and it diluted pretty good. It might be the wrong label. Seems to work well as a paste. It's not clear but it works well in liquid form.

    Lard Recipe

Yea, dead sea salt. I use HP method and dissolve it in the water before mixing the lye and have never had any issues but now that you say that I think I'll stop using it. I have Stearic acid but never used it in soap and haven't done the proper research to start.

    Lard Recipe

Interesting, I've never tried citric acid. I normally add dead sea salt for hardness and sugar for bubbles. I'll have to try the citric acid. What's the amount you put in ppo?

    Gel like soap

Thank you! I will try to do another batch first, then I'll check the purity. Definitely might be human error. I've never had this issue but there's first for everything. Also, I added more lye to the mixture to get 4% SF because I figured 10% was too high.

Do you find you bars lack in bubbles or do you have a way to still get bubbles with the low CO and cleansing?

    Gel like soap

I bought a case of lye maybe about 2 years ago. It came in several bottles. This bottle was just freshly opened and is the last bottle out of the batch. The previous bottle worked the way it was suppose to but I definitely think it's the lye as well. Kinda seems like a soap paste but I...

    Lard Recipe

I have been using Lard but I wouldn't say I have a lard soap ....What do you think it adds to the soap? I know it is said to have a stable lather but I wanted to know if you guys see any major benefits aside from that?

    Gel like soap

Hi, I have been making soap for about 5 years now. I use hot process method and I feel like I do pretty good with this. I've had problems and ruined batches of soap but I'm having a new issue and I'm not sure how to fix it. I attempted to make a bastille like soap. Figured this should be simple...

How much soap is in your house?

Soaping for me is more of a hobby been making soap for about 3 years now and normally I have about 50-75 bars in the house. I like to give them away and see what people think of them and then started getting orders for some bars. I really just like to play around with it and try different things...

    Aloe Darlin'!

Is anyone using the aloe skin at all? And what are the reasons you are adding aloe to your soap? Just curious to see if there's things I unaware of. I use Aloe vera gel from the actual plant and discard of the skin and a lot of people tell me they like the addition of aloe in my soap but if I...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I made HP soap, I experimented with using carrot juice for coloring. I blended carrots and water in blender to get the carrot juice. Seems to have a nice orange color. Hopefully it comes out nice.
