Melt and pour just as good as cold process?

SFIC has a base that is propylene glycol free as well. You just have to buy more to meet the minimum. Sorry, like everything else in life I guess you get what you pay for. Soaping is a lot of fun whether it be for hobby or you are running a soaping business and there is never enough money to...

Melt and pour just as good as cold process?

They do have a minimum if you buy from them directly. Works out to be about $500.00. Brambleberry I believe sells their base. I am sure there are others but don't have names. Maybe a goggle search can provide more names or members of the group can.

Melt and pour just as good as cold process?

Not all MP bases have those ingredients in them. The base that SFIC puts out for instance is a great MP base without all the chemicals that some manufacturers have

Any serious food dehydrator people here?

I am getting ready to buy one. I am looking at the Excalibur or one like that. Don't know anything about the process but I have bought a couple of books to help me along the way. I have a lot of shtf preppy in me lol.

    packaging soaps

I wrap my soaps in shrink wrap. There are some biodegradable options out there. I know a lot of people are on the hate plastic bandwagon but personally I would rather keep my soap free and clear of people's and especially children's hands that may not be the cleanest.

Micas & More going Full Times

Sometimes that get discontinued because they are having trouble getting it from their supplier because they have either d/c it or they can't get it regularly enough to be dependable.

    Preservatives

look up the health risks of using rancid soap, or using moldy or bacterial laced products

    Preservatives

The whole anti preservative all natural was the greatest marketing ploy every invented and that is all it is. A ploy. Look at any of Lush's ingredients. They put off ingredients made in a lab as natural, that they are safe. (and they are) but they get the buyer to believe it is"natural". Yeah I...

    Preservatives

If you look at the order of how ingredients are listed on a label you will notice that the preservatives are near the end because of how little is in the product. Then look and see how far up the list the possible rancid oils etc are on the list. Goggle health effects of rancid oils in products...

    Preservatives

Natural nasties can still kill someone. Especially those with certain health conditions. The fact one would use the word "natural" with a potential health and well being issue is disturbing.

    Post your Gripe

Unexceptable that your husband is spoken to like that. Equally unacceptable that he takes it out on you. Glad to see you stood up for yourself. Sometimes I don't think men even realize some of the stuff they do that hurts us. There are some days I am glad I am happily divorced. I don't miss...

To sell, or not to sell...

I did get a tickle from posts like I saw on FB several weeks ago. A soaper was complaining that another soaper had stolen her ideas. She makes soap, lotion and bath bombs. The other person makes soap, lotion and bath bombs. The products between the two are different. But I always get a kick out...

To sell, or not to sell...

What a fantastic post. I have been at this since 2003. I am constantly amazed by the amount of soapers and bath and body "producers" that try a receipe that weekend and then are selling it on the market the following weekend. It makes for a bad reputation for all handcrafted soapers. There is a...
