    Uncolored and Unscented?!?

I haven’t soaped for a while, but I rarely put color in my soaps. A bit of scent with EO. If the EO added some color, then that was great. 😊

What soapy thing have you done today?

When I was at the salon, the stylist put a lavender/mint product in n my hair, and that’s the first time I experienced the scents together. Interesting. I made some lav/mint lotion that I used for a while.

    oily feel to soap

Thank you! My first batch (different method) turned out just fine. I will adjust the water:lye ratio.

    oily feel to soap

I can no longer locate the video...arrghhh!... I used a hot process, cooked in a crock pot. I didn't use glycerin, just distilled water. Basically cooked it until it gelled and then diluted it. It feels like I still have a sheen of oil on my skin. I have soft water, and I wonder if that...

    oily feel to soap

Hello, I made a batch of liquid hand soap, and it seemed to turn out fine. It's a nice clear color, and it lathers nicely. However, it feels quite oily when I use it, even after varying levels of dilution. I used a recipe that I found online, as I'm fairly new to liquid soap making (cold process...

    Too thin? or too thick?

Thank you earlene. I did. I made three different consistencies... really none would work in the foamer. Could it be because it's castille? It turned out really nice, lathers well, cleans well, feels good.

    Too thin? or too thick?

Hi All, My cold process liquid soap won't work with a foaming pump bottle, but seems ok with a regular pump. (It was made with olive oil, sodium lactate was added). What's the deal?

    No Paste Method

Hi Zany in CO - have you tried this method yet? I'm giving it a second go today.

    No Paste Method

It's been a few days and the Phenol still shows pink. The pH tests about 8. I still have skin on my hands from using it several times. :-) It doesn't burn and actually is a pleasant hand soap. I know I didn't mismeasure, but I did cut the recipe in half.

    No Paste Method

I found a video by Jackie Thompson showing how to make hot process no paste liquid soap. It seemed pretty straightforward, so I attempted it. During much of the process, my soap didn't look or act like her soap in the video... I considered it an entire failure, and then suddenly it cleared up...

    Liquid Soap Intimidation...

Thank you Zany! Yes, there is an overload of info out there.

    Liquid Soap Intimidation...

Hi All, I've been making CP soap for many years and I'm quite comfortable with the process. I would like to make some liquid soap, but everything I read makes me feel it's quite intimidating! Does anyone have a very basic recipe, not one that makes a huge amount (so as to minimize the risk of...

How much do you spend on packaging/labels?

I use only a laser printer. I used a laser printer when I had a wine labeling business, and it's the only thing that doesn't run.

Goat Milk Soap - Good for you or just good for the label?

...and unofficially, it is good for your skin. Every where you turn, there is something good for your skin; aloe, vitamin c, vitamin a, collagen, glycerin... on and on and on... You can't make that claim with your soap though, unless you want to get into the FDA rules.
