Is there a natural vanilla fragrance for HP?

I just purchased some Peru Balsam. I read it can cause sensitization. Is there a certain amount I need to use in a 2 lb. batch? I've used .5 oz. of clove in a 2 lb. batch before along with orange and ground cinnamon, and it didn't irritate my family's skin. What do you guys think?

Is there a natural vanilla fragrance for HP?

I'm in desperate need for a way to make vanilla soap. I don't trust anything labeled vanilla EO because I don't believe it exists. I've also read that vanilla extract only lasts a while until the scent fades. Is there anyway to get the vanilla smell without using fragrance oil? I'm not saying...

15% sf still drying out my skin!

Hi. I started with 6-7% superfat months ago and have moved all the way up to 15%. None of it makes a difference. It still dries out my face. I do the HP method, and I wait until my ph paper is the color of 8-9. I use essential oils for fragrance, and even when I lower the coconut oil down to 20...

Has soap ever burned you in the nether regions?

Soapcalc.net says an ounce of FO or EO for every 2 lbs. I thought I was on the safe side because I only used half an ounce. (Of clove). And I only used just 1/8 of a tsp or so of actual powdered cinnamon. So that's like a horrible amount?

Has soap ever burned you in the nether regions?

I gave the amount of oils on my first post. I did 1/2 ounce clove and 1/2 ounce orange. This was for a two pound batch.

Thanks for all the replies. :)

Has soap ever burned you in the nether regions?

Could it be the clove? I used cinnamon in another recipe, but it didn't bother me. It was used along with nutmeg, clove, allspice and ginger. It was a pumpkin spice blend from the grocery store. This has straight up cinnamon, but not even a whole half a teaspoon probably. I used a good two...

So does it get milder with time?

Has soap ever burned you in the nether regions?

Thanks for the tips, everyone. I have used peppermint before and I have no issues with it. This particular soap has clove essential oil in it and orange with real cinnamon. Do you think it's the clov or the superfat? My peppermint soap doesn't bother me, and it's probably a 6% or 7% sf.

    Goat Milk Soap

I used a 7% superfat. How long should hp soap cure? I thought it was ready immediately.

Has soap ever burned you in the nether regions?

Ok. TMI...but I think the thread name provides enough info. My soap recipe is at 7% superfat with 35 coconut, 35 palm, 25 olive, and 5 shea butter. Is this the cause? What am I doing wrong? Have any of you experienced this? (Hp soap)

    Goat Milk Soap

I have a problem. I made HP soap with a usual recipe (except I used half evaporated goat's milk and half water). It's extremely drying to the skin. I used two tbsp. of honey, 2 tbsp. oatmeal, 1/4 calendula blossoms, and about 2 tbsp. of vanilla bean paste. The milk was frozen, but the mixture...
