    Fragrance Oil Review Chart Link

Nice resource, thanks. My only question is: Why isn't there a column for the fragrance percent used? That's the biggest problem I run into, not using enough I can barely smell, after curing.

    Freezer Soap Fragrance Question

    1) What fragrance brand do you use?

    Freezer Soap Fragrance Question

I smell the fragrance when the bar warms up just fine. It's after the five week cure time (one additional week because it's not jelled) the scent is either very low or gone. I use WSP for fragrance. The issues were: #1) Hand Soap with kaolin clay (1.5gr. per 100 gr. oil=1.5%), WSP-Black Tie-6%...

    Freezer Soap Fragrance Question

The white soap I make with Titanium Dioxide as colorant, I freeze overnight so it doesn't gel to prevent glycerin rivers. My question has to do with fragrance. It seems with frozen soap the scent is lost and sometimes very little. So far in a soap I've used kaolin clay to hold fragrance...

    Emulsifier Lotionpro 165

Thank you. If I have my thickener, I'll use cetyl alcohol instead of stearic acid, at 1%, what percent should I use lotionpro 165 at?

    Emulsifier Lotionpro 165

I'm looking to make a thin facial lotion. I've read that lotionpro 165 is used for thin lotions. After finding a lotion with it, Neutronena Oil-Free Moisture - Sensitive Skin, it felt waxy on the face. My question, is there any ingredient that will get rid of the waxy feel from emulsifiers like...

To Superfat Or Not to Superfat...That Is the Question

I'm using a 5% superfat with a 24% CO in my body bar. If I lower my superfat to 2%, for plumbing purposes. What should I change my CO percent to, to keep the same bar bubbles I have. I didn't want the bubbles increased by lowering the superfat percent.

    Lanolin Saponification or Not?

Do you ever go to 2%, if I keep lanolin at 5%? I just didn't want to dry my skin out.

    Lanolin Saponification or Not?

Since lanolin consumes some of the lye, and if lanolin is not calculated into the recipe on soapcalc. For example, lets say I set soapcalc to 5% Super Fat and add up to 10% lanolin to the soap. I would have 100% oils and 10% lanolin. Would this still be a usable bar, or should the Super Fat be...

    Question about Tallow?

IrishLass, thanks for the suggestion and the information you posted before it. But, I only have 16 of 32oz remaining. So it will be tossed. I'll have to try a different supplier on my next tallow sample purchase.

    Question about Tallow?

This is good to know, I'll give them a try. I found them on etsy. (https://www.etsy.com/shop/FannieAndFlo) Thanks all who replied. I'll throw the remaining out.

    Question about Tallow?

I bought rendered beef tallow from essential depot. When I received it Feb. 2016 it had an off putting faint odor to it. I made some cold process soap with it. There was still half a container (16oz) left, so I stored it in the fridge. I went back to it today to make some more cold process soap...

    Hardening Melt and Pour?

I have an insert in a bar, which is melt and pour. What's your best success to harden melt and pour. The insert is much softer than the bar itself. Here's a pic of the soap. The only part that is melt and pour is the mustache. The other part is cold process.

    bulkapothecary?

Good point. Thanks so much for everyones replies. I was trying to find different barber shop scents. I already ordered the one WSP offers and awaiting my order. The only other two sites I saw that offered this type of scent was bulk apothecary and rusticescentuals.com. Rusticescentuals.com...

    bulkapothecary?

That makes sense. I purchased some samples through saveonscents.com. The samples are supposed to be their extreme concentration, but WSP F.O. seem to hold up better in CP soaps.
