    Hi again from Eden, Utah!

Hi! Would love to chat with you about it! I Love my storefront! It was sort of a jumping off point. I had a major wholesale customer close shop and I couldn't afford to lose that account. I also was needing help and thought how weird to hire somebody to work in my basement. So, I opened up...

    Hi again from Eden, Utah!

Hey all! Wanted to say hi after a long hiatus from SMF. I make goat-milk products and learned all about how to soap here. I started my business in my basement, and then opened a storefront five years ago. I haven't been around much, and hoping to be more active again! Now, after messing...

    BTMS-50 HLB?

Knowing that BTMS-50 is a self emulsifier, what is the HLB value so I can use it with another emulsifier for a more stable product? Thanks! A

    over mixing lotion/separation?

Your face cream is the perfect thickness. Very light and so nice! I have read and also have experienced that cetyl alchol can cause some skin irritation, which is a bit of a bummer. I really like the way it glides, but I have found that on some of my psoriasis, it really burns like a mo fo...

    over mixing lotion/separation?

Weird. Never heard of that happening. BTW: I LOVE your face cream! I have been using it everyday and am amazed that I haven't broken out, which I am prone to. Thought I would with the shea butter in there. So lovely. Thanks for your help. :D

    over mixing lotion/separation?

pm'd again, but... Is it possible that having too little cetyl alcohol creates an unstable emulsion even with 6% BTMS-50? My cetyl alcohol was only at 0.75%. At the higher percentages, the lotion was too thick for what I was looking for. The BTMS-50 already has Cetyl Alcohol in it...

    over mixing lotion/separation?

Can you over mix lotion? I am having a problem with one of my lotion batches separating like an SOB. I used BTMS-50 at 6%. Some separate, some don't. ideas? Next, I need to figure out the HLB...

    Psoriasis

I know that shea butter actually should not be used for psoriasis because shea promotes skin cell formation, which is what psoriasis is, over active skin cell formation. I like the idea of the rooibos tea. gonna buy some of that.

    Psoriasis

I am trying to come up with a cream for my psoriasis, which has blossomed like crazy. Tea Tree is supposed to be good. Currently the only thing that I am doing is using a sugar scrub on it every day, which helps immensely to scrub the flakes off, but does not last all day, and I start the...

    Confused about soap vs. hair.

I use cheap apple cider vinegar, but I do not use it every day as it will strip the natural oils from your hair. I started using it once a week, but even that, they say, can strip your hair and should not be used even that often. Besides adjusting the pH, the vinegar also gets rid of the...
