Why don’t bath bombs need preservatives?

I’m sorry if my reply came off rude! I was rereading it now and was like oh my goodness I sound so rude here haha. Don’t reply when you’re tired 🤣

Why don’t bath bombs need preservatives?

I don’t believe there is a way to get 100% isopropyl alcohol so that’s false in saying you don’t use water if you use 91% rubbing alcohol like a lot of people use because the other 9% is water.

Why don’t bath bombs need preservatives?

I see a lot of people use rubbing alcohol and water as a binder, but I thought if you add water to a product you need a preservative? Is it because it evaporates?

Are shower steamers a cosmetic or drug?

I’m not sure what mine would be then. I’m not marketing it as anything really other than “shower steamers” but it is a bit of a weird line because you breathe them in, they don’t really go on your body and they don’t “beautify” so I’m not sure exactly what it is.

Are shower steamers a cosmetic or drug?

What exactly are shower steamers? I know a cosmetic is used to enhance beauty or to smell good but shower steamers are mostly to be breathed in. What are they exactly assuming you don’t make any claims?

    Optiphen inactivated by ewax?

I have never tried it but I just bought some. Can I only use this for my body butters that contain water? I read that liquid germall plus is only for products containing water. If so, can I use the Optiphen for my emulsified sugar scrubs that contain no water? Thank you for your help.

    Optiphen inactivated by ewax?

I heard somewhere that Optiphen is inactivated by polysorbate. I am using an ewax that contains polysorbate 60. Is this true and do I need to change preservatives or will this work okay for my body butters? Also I just read now that Optiphen isn’t to be used in products containing water? What...

Is unrefined cocoa butter just as good?

I am running out of cocoa butter and I won’t get it in time if I order it now. I have some unrefined raw cocoa butter I purchased a while ago on Amazon. Would this work for my emulsified body butters and have the same shelf life as if I used refined? I don’t care about the stronger odor, I just...

    How to label proprietary blends?

I’m using Brambleberrys emulsifying wax and it states in the SDS sheet that it is a proprietary blend so it does not give me the percentages of ingredients. How do I label this for my lotion? Do I list it as emulsifying wax or do I need the percentages to label this?

    Curious Question!

To clarify:When I say I’ve felt zaps many times before it is because I zap test my soap right after I cut it before it is saponified out of curiosity and then after a few days (which by that point it doesn’t zap) so no worries. Just a curious question was all :) my soap doesn’t zap, only before...

    Curious Question!

I’ve seen many soap makers state that a zap from soap cannot be mistaken, however I am wondering… are there varying degrees of zap? Most describe it as a 9volt battery, but I am wondering if let’s say I have a veeery slightly lye heavy soap if this would give me the same zap as a 9volt or a very...
