    Soap and Clay on YouTube has a recent video on how to make melt and pour base. She says it’s relatively simply.

    Mixing Waxes

    Beeswax can be challenging for container candles because if that’s what you’re doing. It also doesn’t have great hot throw. Fir melts many people mix beeswax with coconut oil which is great.

    Coconut oil

    Use a warmer spoon or knife to cut it out.

    Any tips for Melting Hard Oils Without Microwave

    I don’t have a microwave and don’t intend to get one. Whenever I need to heat up anything, I use double boiler method. Will be doing that with oils when I start soaping. I don’t want to get them too hot. And yes, I’ve mistakenly done that when cooking.

    Substitute for coconut oil

    What about Babassu. I don’t get on with coconut, but babassu is ok. Its much less drying than coconut.

    I bought her books when I first got interested in soaping years ago. I found them very useful. I only started to seriously consider making my first soap.
