What soapy thing have you done today?

I made a couple batches of shave soaps for my son this weekend. Yay!! I haven't made soap in months and it felt good to get my equipment out and make something. I have been taking a break from soaping purely to force myself to use up my ridiculous huge stockpile of bars. I find myself lathering...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I have only tried one of the sample micas they sent me - it was a gold mica. It was :) I tend to stick to Mad Micas, Nurture Soap, or Micas and More for mica colors. And I have so many I don't need to order any more lol. Patchouli - ew. I use it as a base note for blends on occasion...

What soapy thing have you done today?

Dropping to see what everyone has been up to. I haven't been making soap because I'm completely loaded down with it lol. My son informed me he needs shaving soap though, so I will probably be making some this weekend. If I can figure out which recipe version it is he likes - kicking myself at...

Was it from Workshop Heritage? (looks like mine from your picture) If it does cut uneven, be sure to contact them right away. I have had good service from that company. They are a bit slow to ship but I think that is because their business has really taken off and they make everything themselves.

What soapy thing have you done today?

I got a new acrylic mold and some new fragrances, but did not feel well enough to make soap today. Maybe this weekend. I really want to try out the new mold.

    Two Single Oil Soap Tests

I found a one year old bar of an almost castile soap I made with 75% OO and 25% SAO - it was fantastic. Lathered like crazy and no slime. So I made it again about a month ago and it is already a great bar, but needs more time to hit the sweet spot. I used a 40% lye concentration. Even at 25%...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I tried HP again today using some tips from @linne1gi (thank you). I used yogurt after the cook and it was more fluid for a lot longer. I even tried two colors and spoon swirled them (tried to anyway). It's cooling down now. I'm trying to use up some of my essential oils and they just don't...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I did warm my additives, containers, and even my silicone utensils in order to not cause temperature shock to the soap - but thank you for bringing that up because I didn't mention it in my post. I don't use the water as a % of oils measurement - I use the lye concentration percentage so I...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I tried hot process soap yesterday for the first time. I made an essential oil blend that hasn't stuck well in CP and I wanted to see if it would do better using the HP method. Here is what I learned from yesterday's experience: HP is more stressful than CP. My slow cooker that is dedicated for...

Emulsion, Trace, False Trace, and Acceleration

I have been watching the videos from this channel a lot recently. Useful information, and good demonstrations, and a very likable person. The chatty part of the videos is relevant and I am enjoying them a lot. Such a relief from one of my old subscription channels that now seems to focus more...

    Tried Out My New Mold

I have this mold and love the slightly narrower width of the bar. Your soap is beautiful!

Having trouble with vegan palm free recipe

I have a high butter recipe and when I make it I don't plan any swirls. I do a solid color and blend the fragrance oil and color into the melted oils before adding the lye solution. Then I just stick blend and get it in the mold. It is still very pretty soap. I use a different recipe for swirls...

    Beautiful pure white...from?

The Riceland website says: "Riceland Rice Bran Oil contains natural plant waxes that remain in the oil after minimal processing. This gives the oil a slightly cloudy appearance. The waxes are not harmful when consumed and do not alter the oil in any way." I've seen RBO described as winterized...
