The best thing you can do is use a bar at 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 4 weeks, and so on. This will let you see the dramatic impact a good cure can have on your soap. It is a real learning experience and a bit fun.

My soap room has carpet on the floor, I am terrified of when I drop some oil or other substance on it and can't get it cleaned up. I have been soaping for little over a year and the only thing I have spilled on the floor was a bottle of fragrance oil. I got it clean up ok.

If you really want to use it (I would as it is a good selling point) you could always have it tested. I can get things tested here in California for around $30.00. I think it would be a good investment. People like local and natural.

It turned out really nice. I am going to try other veggie waters next year. Carrot, tomatoes ( green & red), beet and some others. I can use my vitamin to turn just about any veggie in to water. What do you think is best raw or cooked?

I was canning cucumber relish this last weekend and noticed a large amount of juice coming out of the ground cucumbers so I made soap with the juice. I used 100% cucumber juice in place of water, the lye turned it orange but it worked great. I now have a nice batch of lightly orange cucumber...
