    Not soap

Hello all, just thought I'd check in. Life has been, well life. Getting in the way of soaping and all things soap related sadly. Hope to get back to it soon. I had so many ideas for the welded challenge and didn't get to make any, but the entries were awesome! Well done to everyone Here are...

    Confetti Soap Ideas

I don't do confetti soaps often, but this is one I make regularly. The scent discolours dark brown, so I intentionally make a small thin slab of unscented white/pink/purple to cut into slivers and drop in

    Australian soap making regulations

You must put your physical address where the soap is manufactured on the label, so that papers can be served in person if required

Thank you to everyone :D congratulations to Dibbles, Jersey Girl and mobjack but also everyone who participated and attempted this soap. An intimidating design for sure. Thank you to amd for hosting, as it's not something I think I ever would have tried without it being a smf challenge

Hiya, I just waited until it was set up enough and poured. I never cover, insulate or oven my soap I just let it do whatever it wants, gel or no gel, ash, it's all fine. These didn't gel

@Kafayat Adebowale oyeniyi no I'm sorry I dont ... I havent ventured into doing videos yet but I'd like to at some point! @dibbles I am so intrigued by that line that you got in yours, where the two sides meet. I am going to have to have another go at this to try to emulate it, because I love...

If you mean the straight line section ... At a guess maybe half an hour? I poured each one at emulsion, which in my experience has been the key to getting nice straight lines. I then washed my bowls, waited for the lye to melt my frozen milk, and by the time I was ready to pour again the first...

Recipe's how many is to many

To be honest 95% of my customers dont actually give a rats about the ingredients in the soap. All they care about is that it smells pretty, it lathers well, and it doesnt disappear too quickly. Although the one caveat to that is they do want to know that its all palm free

Here are my non entries. I did the layers with five separate batches (but poured two full loafs, which of course turns into 4 full loafs so it actually wasn't too bad when you take that into consideration. I had this grand idea of making like a his n hers matching set but ultimately when I put...

SMF May 2020 Challenge Entry Thread - Diagonal Slice Stripe with Swirl

Here is my entry for this month's challenge, and I will put my non-entries up on the other thread. This is a tallow/lard goat milk soap, coloured with activated charcoal, titanium dioxide and micas. Scented with BB Fresh Snow. I found choosing an FO to be a conundrum for this design. I would...

I agree, although I notice Kafayet you need one more post to participate (minimum of 50 posts) ... I'm not sure if your entry one counts as the last one or you need to do one more LOL

    Recipe failure?

Not all soap recipes are created equal, and patience is a virtue with soap making. This isn't a recipe failure but a failure to give the soap the time it needs to harden and unmould cleanly. Soap has its own timeline, which will differ between recipes and sometimes between batches of the same...
