    When will I learn!!?

The worst thing l did was pickup a bottle of "Spray & Wipe"(Kitchen Spray) and sprayed the top of a 2lb soap loaf instead of using the bottle of alcohol sitting next to it.2lbs of base wasted. Moral of the story clear your bench before you start soaping. :)

    Aussie suppliers

I agree that Aussie Soap Supplies is still the best soap supplier in Australia,I just wish it was the cheapest (dreaming):)

    Another silly question, lol

I hope l am not stating the obvious but the amount of melted base should equal the amount of solid base melted. You can also measure using water it might not be spot on but its near enough.

    Buying Low Sweat M&P only

I use Low sweat soap all the time because of our conditions in Australia,l find the Low Sweat soap drys a lot quicker so you don't have so much time to work it.I have tried using ordinary Melt & pour but its just not viable here so if l had the choice l would use that in preference to Low...

Can I take a short cut?

I don't like using the freezer to harden soap faster,it makes the soap more prone to sweating.

    Another silly question, lol

When l want to know the amount of soap base l need for a certain mold l put the mold on the scales turn back the scales to zero and then fill up the mold with water the weight of the water is how much base you need.Since you already know it holds 40 ounces that means you need 40 ounces of base.

(newbie Quest) Help! My first M&P leaves my skin really

All bases are not created equal and if you are using an inferior base that will go a long way to solving the problem of drying to the skin.

Is It Safe To Use My Microwave For Food After Heating M&

Can't think why it would be a problem ,have been M & P soaping and Soy melts making for a couple of years using the microwave for both hobbies plus the family meals etc and we are still all here.Never seen any technique reason why you can't use the microwave for both purposes.

    Brambleberry Bases

I am another Brambleberries user, tried heaps of others but always come back to them. I have used their Low Sweat base both clear and opaque, goatsmilk, shea, oatmeal(which l love) ,ordinary clear & opaque and shaving and really had no problems with any of them.

    Fragrance Oils

I have pushed it a little higher for a FO that isn't very strong, but it does effect your soap and potentially your skin if you add too much ,most oil suppliers give you a recommended and maximum usage, 5% seems to be the absolute maximum you can use but check your suppliers recommendations.

    Brambleberry suggestions?

My favorites are Energy,Buttercream & Snickerdoodle,Holiday Candy and of course Oatmeal Milk & Honey.

    Fragrance Oils

Fragrance is added at the rate of 1-2% of base.Which works out to 5-10mls per 500 gms
