I have a small amount of rancid oil that I would like to use up. Is there any way to use this in a lye based soap that would hide the smell of the rancidness? I'm thinking a strong Cinnamon might hide the smell but I want to see what others experiences have been.

What's the PH of soap? I wonder if you could add baking soda to it to get a reaction... Don't try it yet, wait for someone who is smart about this stuff to answer first. I'm just planting the idea.

I received a bunch of melt and pour bars for Christmas but they just don't have any lather, so I wanted to mix them with my recipe so they are more desirable to my preference. Would there be any issues with Melting it and adding it to my soap bar recipe after my recipe reaches trace?
