What soapy thing have you done today?

I know this is kinda off topic but I'm looking for favorite laundry soap recipes. I looked for Mike's but it's been taken down. Does anyone have a recipe for one that they use and love. And suggestions for spot cleaning would be great too.

Who here makes soaps fragrance-free, essential-oil free exclusively?

This last year I have made only fragrance/color free goats milk soap. Daughter in law says it's the best soap she has ever used on her face; daughter says it helps with her psoriasis and my friend, who has MS, says it's the first soap that doesn't make her skin all blotchy and itchy. I want to...

What soapy thing have you done today?

My husband might agree with the "keep(ing) me sane" part but not so much the "cheaper than therapy" part. But it's a whole lot more fun than complaining to a stranger and you've got something tangible to show for your efforts.

lining wooden molds - part 1

I can't remember the "mil" on them but I used heavy duty yard bags to line my wooden molds. It's been several years and I still have them. My husband made my molds and one is not exactly like the other so I cut the liners specifically for each mold, just like it shows in the video. The great...

    Buttermilk/Goatmilk Scent

Are you saying you want a sour milk scent? I make goats milk soap but I don't get any noticeable smell from the milk. I love the smell of buttermilk but don't think I want to bathe with it. Can you be more specific?

It's Curing... What next? How do you store your soap?

I had two large wire racks, one for curing, one for storing. The curing rack was lined with old towels and I used tiny alligator clips to hold name tags. The storage rack was full of plastic shoe boxes with printed names on them. I didn't wrap until just before a craft show or order.

Experience with Milky Way Molds from Wholesale Supplies Plus

To anyone who doesn't have Zany's self-control or has a corner that needs filling, please let me know. I have MW molds that need a home.

    Lemongrass soap suggestions please

I used chlorophyll to color a Spicy Lime fo. I love the idea of rosemary and lemongrass. Got to try that next time.

Experience with Milky Way Molds from Wholesale Supplies Plus

Zany, I don't do anything but CP. I bought all of my molds directly from MW and I've never had any trouble. I don't understand why others have issues with them. I guess I should have stated that I have been buying MW molds for over 20 years, not all at once 20 years ago. The composition didn't...

Experience with Milky Way Molds from Wholesale Supplies Plus

I'm really surprised at the problems listed here. I have loads of Milky Way molds that are over 20 years old and only one is cracked. I do only goats milk soap; soap around 100 degrees; never gel; always sprayed with Pam; put molds in the freezer a lot; popped the individual soaps out from the...

    “Moisturizing” Soap?

I was asking about moisturizing. Isn't that what SF is, adding extra oils to SF or moisturize and when to add the SF oil to get the most out of it?

    “Moisturizing” Soap?

When I started soaping, we didn't have forums like this to help. I always thought that I could control the SF factor by adding the oil I wanted for SF just before pouring. My idea was that most of the saponification had already happened and the last few ounces would be the emollient...

    Starting My Soaping Journey

Pardon me for being the dunce in the schoolroom, but why salt? Whenever I think of putting salt in soap, I get all itchy and dry feeling. Since I only make goats milk soap now, I never gel and my soaps are always ready to pop out of the molds in 12 hours. Please enlighten me.
