    Soap Pet peeves

    My biggest pet peeve with life and Soaping is me. The me that thought that I did know it all. I came here defensive - to prove something. All I proved is that I have a lot to learn. I learned a lot from you all about something i love very much to do! And I learned that at least I can walk now...

    Can't quite figure out how to swirl

    Your work is beautiful. You have some points to go off of to make something more in line with your vision. I often wait two days before cutting when I swirl as I use a soft recipe. I haven't used citric acid in my soaps so I can't say how that would affect hardness. I love your soap - your swirl...

    My first tallow

    Do I understand correctly that you already filtered and then melted back down in water? If so, then you should be able to pop in the fridge, remove the hardened fat, and package. When I water render, I wrap the fat into a muslin/kitchen towel to dry and then when dry, store slabs in freezer bags...

    Just some thoughts - sorry if they're fractured! I've used clays and oat flour to try to anchor the scent and base notes like sandalwood and vanilla (usually fragrance oils in my case). I've liked Jasmine and Lavender with citrus. I tried Coconut fragrance with lime eo and that was pretty good...
