    Your favorite immersion blender?

I was gifted a Kitchenaid SB years ago and it gathered dust in a dark corner of my kitchen until I started soaping. It does trap air in the bell no matter how much burping or tipping I try. I was wondering if anyone who owns one of these high dome SBs has ever tried the trick of drilling holes...

    Question about challenges

I don't have specific suggestions about what future challenges should include, mostly because any design, theme, technique, etc will be plenty challenging for me. I don't think you have to wear yourself out looking for "new" techniques to present, because every single challenge allows for the...

    M&P swirled embed advice needed

Calling all MP soaping experts! I'm planning a Soal Eater cp soap with MP embeds for eyes and jagged mouth, placed in a loaf mold of cp soap colored black with AC. I'd like to use clear MP base for the red embeds. First of all, do you think this can be done? For instance, practically...

Fragrance oil recommendations for comic lovers

Cindy, thanks for the heads up about Rustic Escentuals. Bright & bold are definitely qualities in comic themes, and that's what I'm going for. Real people to talk to! Good idea.

Fragrance oil recommendations for comic lovers

Thanks, green soap! Your fragrance connections to their corresponding colors is just what I was looking for. Especially the orange/lemon-anise. I love eucalyptus for the blue-black, but am going to keep looking, since I know one of them has a strong aversion to eucalyptus, poor thing.

    Base oils separating?

Seems to me that the appearance of your soft oils are just different enough that you'd be able to see the layers in a glass container if they separated. Could you do a test batch in a smaller glass container, let it sit for several days, then check to see if there's visible separation?

Fragrance oil recommendations for comic lovers

Hi everyone, I'm looking to make some cp soap for family who are real big into the Comic-Con scene, of which they attend several in a year to sell hero gifts and novelties. I wanted to make some soap for them on the theme of their current favorites, Soul Eater and Fairy Tail. I don't know...

What size bar would you choose?

I wouldn't pass up buying the bigger bar if I really liked the scent, but I never take that big of a bar into the shower. I cut my bigger bars in half, and advise my gift-ees to do the same if they like. To me, the big bars are for show (and there's nothing wrong with a showy bar of soap...

How to achieve the cleanest cuts

I've got both a straight metal cutter and a multi-bar wire cutter. I also have a planer/beveler for cleanup after cutting. I think you're doing a lot of great things already, so there are just a couple of other tips I've got. Try to wait to cut until the loaf is a little harder than you have...

What soapy thing have you done today?

My 6 year old granddaughter Daisy comes to send the night with me about once a month. Last time she came she swirled soap that I posted pics of. This time (yesterday) we went to the beach and the NC Aquarium. On our way home as the sun dipped below the horizon leaving dark purple/gray clouds...

    Hiya

Hi Freeda and welcome! Wish I knew more about melt and pour! Been doing mostly CP soap---M&P seems to move so fast once you've got it melted! CP gives me time for designs, and there are so many things you can do with it. Maybe I should spend more time in the MP threads and learn something, lol.
