    Where to buy oils acids?

Thanks for the advice! I was kind of figuring that was the way it was. I will be making lots of small batches. I'll be sure to check the various tabs on SoapCalc's website.

    Where to buy oils acids?

Hi all -- I am curious where you buy some oils and acids. The main things I've had a hard time finding are; stearic acid, saw palmetto oil or extract, and myristic acid. Also where are people finding out what these oils provide the soap and what they are best used for? I've just been...

    Bees Wax?

You should be able to get beeswax online. It is different than parafin. Paraffin is made from petroleum where as beeswax is pure wax made by honeybees. It provides a natural form of wax you can use in your soap. Here are few links referencing beeswax and paraffin that better describe it...

    Kerosene Soap (Lye)

Thanks Dagmar!! I appreciate the help! I would have never guessed that sugar made soap more bubbly. Does the bubbliness help with the lather? I will be washing my clothes with an older mechanical washing machine. I'll probably temper my use of sugar this batch. I'm looking...

    Kerosene Soap (Lye)

Hi! I'm new to the soap making forum. I just got a recipe from my great grandmother that dates back to the 1920's. It is very similar to the mechanics kerosene soap recipes I have seen online. The only problem I have is that it calls for one bottle of lye. As far as fats that I was...
