what would blend well with juniper? I was thinking orange, but I'm not sure? Has anyone successfully soaped with juniper before? I also bought a small bottle of sweet basil, and can't remember what i intended to blend with it? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

This happened to my soaps until I backed off a bit on the insulating. I put two towels and a wooden cover. Now I just use the wooden cover and a tea towel and it hasn't happened since!

Lavender orange is nice, also lavender mint.

I fixed the problem. I was over insulating. I switched from two big towels to just a tea towel and i havet had the problem since. Thank goodness, because my soaps look sooo much better!

I generally use .5 oz per pound of soap, but tea tree is fairly strong so maybe not quite as much. are you using straight tea tree, or are you mixing it with other eo's? brambleberry has a fragrance calculator that you could check to see how much is recommended for specific eo's :)

I think I may be over insulating. I have a wooden mold with a lid and i put two thick towels around it. Ever since I had a partial gel Ive been kinda over doing it, maybe? glycerin rivers. it might be that because it doesnt do it on the very edges. how do you prevent that?

I agree about the photos. the soaps should "pop" a bit more. maybe try setting them up close to a window to get more even and better lighting, or maybe outside in the shade or on a cloudy day try for an uncluttered background, and shoot at the same level as the soap instead of looking down at...
