    Hot Process-When is it Cooked/Finished?

Nothing in soapmaking is written in stone. There are a lot of variables. Water discount and superfat are just 2 examples, another would be altitude. I keep my superfat at 5% and have never had a bar go rancid.

Tara, no matter what I say, someone will contradict me, so I would just as soon keep my knowledge to myself. I am TRULY Sorry!

    Hot Process-When is it Cooked/Finished?

I have been cooking soap for years, (instant gratification). I find that when my batch is "shiny" and no longer soupy it is done. Another way to know is when it begins to stick to the sides of the crock. Also, I wait until the very end to add my fragrance. I find that it maintains its...

Soap recipe for older thin skin

Give it to them, they probably loved it! My "tag line" at shows used to be "got dirt? Buy soap"...folks would laugh, then buy soap. EVERYONE loves a hand made bar of soap.

Soap recipe for older thin skin

I use 3%, usually a "safe" all around percentage, lol Just to put it out there, I would NEVER purchase this soap for my loved ones unless they request it. This is something that the "user" needs to decide for themselves, as giving it as a gift WOULD be rude. I loved my elders, and NEVER would...

Soap recipe for older thin skin

No worries, I just clarified just in case, I have about the thickest "thin skin" one could have lmao It isn't actually rude, my grandmother and "Auntie" had that "distinct odor", and I started smelling it on myself (probably imagination) so I went down the rabit hole, AND all the hallways! it...

Soap recipe for older thin skin

The persimmon is available through some of the hunting supply shops online, and is quite costly (in the big picture)

Soap recipe for older thin skin

Most of my soaps are vegan, however, my neighbor butchered, and provided me with tallow. I fell in love with the hardness and how it makes my skin feel. I am aware of the differences tallow makes with soap. I only make 2 non vegan soaps, and the persimmon is one of them.

Your oil choices are my basic recipe. I cook soap, so obviously I am not a swirler, lol. I do use persimmon oil for my personal soaps for my aging hormones. I have mild psoriasis, and the above oils appear to agree with my flairups.

Nobody wants to try shampoo bars unless they're free...

No, I am talking about shampoo bars, not just labeled as shampoo bars. The shop I sell in has 2 brands, and shampoo and conditioner bars is what their specialty is. The bars are small, but they are also pricey.

Nobody wants to try shampoo bars unless they're free...

People buy shampoo bars. The shop I sell my wares in sells 2 different brands. People who buy them swear by them, and they have their friends buying them as well. When I began making my pain cream, I gave my entire first batch away to "test" it. [30] one ounce cans. It was expensive, but to me...
