Tabitha and Lane - well said. That is exactly why I haven't jumped in with both feet into full fledged business. Just dabbling now. I too know I'm an impluse buyer, so I've made tracking sheets for myself on where to get supplies, which is the least expensive route.
Your advice is invaluable...
Even with the health issues we all have, I find it so comforting and I can 'zone out' when I'm creating something new. Have a bad back and only 39! Even with putting the money back into your soap making supplies, I think you'd come out with a little bit extra. Then a nice dinner and a movie (I'm...
I have had three spinal fusions so getting around after work causes me alot of problems. I have found though that making the soap, I made CP soaps is not all that difficult to me. I make mine on the weekends, and have a handy hubby who makes me my molds.
It does cost some to get your...
looks great! My husbands 'honey do' list got bigger when I started to make soaps. He's making me some curing racks now.
Way to go! It is addictive, isn't it?
I will add my thanks too! All of you have been encouraging, fun and full of great advice and encourgement. Almost like all of us are in a huge kitchen together, experimenting, blending, pouring and enjoying the entire experience!
Thank you all so much! I will be checking everything out this weekend and next week. I'm having surgery and will be layed up for a few days. Perfect time to do that!
I wish Walmart carried the Cocunet Oil. I'll see what the case price would be if they would order it such a way. Doesn't hurt...
Where do you get your oils, mica's, and botanicals? I am in process of leaving my current work and taking a long deserved break, but want to get my soap biz up and running this year. Can you all help me out?
Thanks a million!
You know, that would be a great way to present soaps at market and craft shows. Have some already packaged up and then logs ready to cut and charged by the ounce.
You've already got me thinking! Will check out the website. Sounds like a great place to visit. Someday, I'll make it to London...
Welcome! I am new too and made my first two batches a few weeks ago. I'm already addicted to it. Way too much fun to stop now. The members here have been so helpful to me, you're sure to love it!
Welcome!
Thanks to all of you! I will certainly check out the links you sent, Paul. Appreciate it. I am going to try the FO and still work with the EO's. Think I'll stick mostly with the EO's - thanks Tabitha.
I make a nice oil blend for those nasty headaches I get, lavendar and chamomile with sweet...
It's been two weeks today that I made my first batch of cold process lavendar soap! I had a friend join me to make sure the lye fumes didn't cause me any problems, but that went just fine. It traced within seven to ten minutes with the stick blender. The next day, I made a four pound batch of...
I made my very first batch Saturday and were ya'all right! It is addictive and fun. My friend kicked me out of the kitchen when she was mixing the lye because I have very bad reactions to all sorts of things... but the lye solution luckily wasn't one of them! Phew.
We made a two pound batch...
:D I am so glad I found this forum! I am making my very first batch the weekend after next. I'm a little nervous and excited too. I have had the materials together for a few years, but back surgery put a halt for a while. I've read and re-read the few books I have and am actually dreaming about...
