Anyone else throw up in their mouths at reading the title, or am I alone?

    Tell me more about silk.

I use this type of silk as well [emoji1533] I agree with it having a lot to do with the soap recipe. I use silk in all but one of my recipes and I can absolutely tell the difference in slip, lather, look and feel.

    EOs vs FOs....

I agree, this debate it’s purely personal, I don’t use FO’s because I’ve always found them to have an aura of sugar and chemical, no matter the scent or usage rate. FO’s do last longer in soap as that’s what they’re designed to do, I just don’t like them and won’t have them in my house . I...

    EOs vs FOs....

I’ve made a good few batches where the scents lasted beyond 6 months, I only use EO’s as I find FO’s tend to stink a bit of ‘lush’, I don’t sell at the moment but have no intention of using FO’s, I did buy one once as it was on offer but I had to throw the bottle away because I stank of sugar...

Lye Marks on my bench top?

I tend to use cling film on all surfaces I’m using, because I’m messy. I usually have a tea towel underneath the lye pot as well incase of eruption. When you’ve finished just throw the cling film away

    Comparing oil prices across countries...

Ahhh that'd be why, I think my closest Poundstretcher's is on the other side of London. That's a similar price to B n M's but again, the store's are so far between and I don't drive, the cost of a cab makes the trip redundant XD

    Comparing oil prices across countries...

That's fantastic, where abouts did you get that from? I get my coconut oil from Sainsburies (KTC 2.45 per 500g ) as it's the cheapest (both online and instore) that I've been able to find, apart from B and M's but I don't have one close enough and they don't deliver.

    Comparing oil prices across countries...

I’m not sure of the US (or NZ for that matter) prices as I’m British, but is the intention of this post to get others to do the same based on where they are as a point of reference for others? Or are you just discussing NZ vs US prices ?

New soaper needs advice about local ingredients

Apologies, I didn't think to check the date. I'd gone too far back in the forums and hadn't realised.

New soaper needs advice about local ingredients

Depending on where in the UK you are, I strongly suggest checking the foods of the world isle for 2.45 p/500g jars of coconut oil (it's the same brand that sells on amazon/ebay for 7/8 quid a jar) and checking small middle eastern corner shops for olive oil, I manage to get mine for 9.99 p/5...

    Rosemary

Thank you!! It is 100% yeah, I’ve used it with peppermint at a 40:60 and bay & cedarwoos atlas as well (my favourite blend but it’s just for personal use) I didn’t infuse any of the oils no I just used the EO. Thanks, it’s a 2:1 Blue & Green with no TD
