Do they melt like wax? I'm guessing colored wax chunks. Maybe someone was wanting to make those chunk wax candles and never got around to it?

I use it in my face scrub, I get it at Bob's Red Mill, which I can fortunately visit; but they do have an online store. I'll have to try it in the soap, sounds nice :-) http://www.bobsredmill.com/

Looks good to me. But unfortunately the only way to know for sure is to test and try it :-( For example, I'm a strange one - sugar dries my skin out. I didn't know that, until I made a batch. I always test with a small (1 pound) batch, that way, I don't "waste" too much of my supplies...

Just my two cents worth... When did you add your flavor oil? Is there a chance it was too hot and it flashed off? My vanilla can be added at 200, but I have to watch my bubblegum flavor that flashes at 125.. hth Melodee

Failor's book on liquid soap making says that it is a water soluble product; with no fatty acids; that's why it can be used to superfat liquid soap without cloudiness.... It's an oil-less oil? :-) Curious about what the more advance soapers will say on this... good question. Melodee
