Hi everyone! I have returned to the addiction after an extended break due to medical issues. My new medical condition will surely change how I have to soap, but I will not stop me!
I have a condition called POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome)...this makes standing up the whole...
That makes sense...just took my by surprise since it didn't happen the last time I made this recipe. Only thing I changed was the brand and grind (espresso) of the coffee.
So last night I was making a new batch of coffee soap...
I measured my oils, melted the lard and coconut oil...combined them...
I measured my lye and chilled coffee and coconut milk...I mixed my lye solution as usual...and let it cool a bit...
When i went to mix my lye with my oils it had...
It is with zero dignity that I post this...I proved without a doubt tonight why you should ALWAYS follow lye safety FULLY....I made a completely stupid mistake tonight and didn't wear goggles....while stick blending my batter it splashed and got into my eye....
Not sure at the moment what...
So I went ahead and made the batch. It traced SUPER fast.....but not unworkable. I used black oxide, snow white mica and Tahitian Teal for colors and Black Tuxedo for FO.
I put a thin layer of black and swirled in white on the very bottom. Then poured some teal and put dots of black and white...
From the beginning I have bent the rules. In my life there is no box...I used fragrance, colorant and 5 oils/butter...I have never used someone's recipe that was previously written....Other than lowering the fragrance I did in the end decide to try it the way I originally had it just to be edgy...
