I have been making soap from my teenage years when my grandmother introduced me to her hit or miss farmhouse recipe. Some of the ugliest soap I've seen, but it seems to have an infinite shelf life and it really does still clean grimy hands. I have had some interesting teaching jobs: PA sponsored art and science teacher in the elementary school. It opened the door for me to get into regular classroom teaching. I mainly taught 4th grade, and then 8th grade science in the public system, and finally 14 years of geometry in a private school. I also worked a year teaching middle school science in the Global Village Project. Prior to teaching I was a fiber artist participating in juried shows. Now my entire laundry room has become a chemistry lab or making suds. I am hoping to experiment and learn and eventually develop my own line of soap. I look forward to communicating with other soap makers especially communicating ideas and troubleshooting.
