How to get rid of that soap-base smell? Curing?

No, I'm making scented soap and have noticed what you said. Thanks! :)

    F.O. in Melt and Pour

I buy alot of stuff from these guys (Elements) who give you a basic formula with their FO's. They usually range from 1 to 1.5 oz. / lb.. From there, I'd just experiment a little and adjust as you see fit. The only thing I might ever really worry about is using so much it makes you itchy or...

How to get rid of that soap-base smell? Curing?

I might change bases then because I've been using the clear shaving lather base from Elements but til now that's the only base I've tried. BTW, I have some shea butter base (also from Elements) I've been meaning to try. I should also mention that I've noticed the longer the (prepared) soap sits...

I agree. Moldmaking's been on my to-do list awhile now. It'd be much more worthwhile than buying a mold for each custom piece which could turn into a small fortune. As far as the hand, thanks.. another year of therapy and it'll be as good as new. :)

    My Frankensoap creation

Oh my God. Those are too cool to mention! lol A riot! BTW, I've resigned my pursuits to learning the right formula for making sellable ("safe" soap). Maybe I just haven't done the right kind of digging but from what I can tell, it's a challenge to be ready to sell to the public. Things need...

First time trying a vertical mold, need advice

Hi everyone, I hope you day looks better than mine right now. :? Anyway, I ordered a vertical mold and am unsure yet on how to use it. It has 2 sides (yin yang) so I know one side has to be poured and allowed to set, then the divider removed so the other side can be poured. My big fear is that I...

    My Frankensoap creation

lol It's ALIVE! ALIVE, I SAY! That's exactly why it's called "Frankensoap" - It's just plain scary! But as I said, it was just to learn to embed. I'm hoping I might be able to use a stamp to get alot of embedded detail (I don't know stamps yet ~ I've been learning about making soap for about 2...

    My Frankensoap creation

Well this is my 3rd (but so far ~ clearest, best!) Frankensoap creation. As you can see, it has alll kinds of problems (not to mention that it smells just yukky, being from so many rehashed soap scraps!). The point was just to see how to embed designs in soap, so I drew up a funny little picture...
