    Yogurt & Cucumber Soap Questions

Oh, Thank you all for the tips! I never thought of chilling my mold before using it. I will definitely try that. And thanks for the tip on what/how much oils to add. I will be rebatching both this weekend and I will let you know how it goes. Thanks again!

    Yogurt & Cucumber Soap Questions

Hi! I have a few questions about a couple of soap batches I did this week. I made 2 batches of Yogurt and Cucumber Soap. Both Batches have this basic recipe, Soap Calc was used to get water/lye ratio Avocado Oil - 5% Castor Oil - 10% Coconut Oil 76 degrees - 25% Mango Butter - 5% Palm...

Coconut & Pumpkin Hot Process Recipe Question

Thank you! I tried that and everything worked well with the lye, no burning or odd smells! It did completely separate in the crockpot, turning into oil and little rice shaped batter, but I stick blended it out, and now it's in the mold. I'll cut it this weekend. Thanks again!

    Why does TD hate me???

I was having trouble with TD as well, and while researching it I found thread on here that said to completely mix 1/2c Olive Oil with 4 TBSP of TD. Mix well and allow it to sit. I tried that and my white soap comes out perfectly now. Now clumps or anything else. Every time I need some white, I...

Coconut & Pumpkin Hot Process Recipe Question

Hi! I was wondering if I could get some advice about the HP recipe I am planning on making tomorrow. This will be my second HP batch, the first went well. I am wanting to make pumpkin soap using both real pumpkin and coconut milk. The recipe I am using is as follows (i have run it through...

Can someone tell me what is going on here?

I just meant that as a new soaper, it would probably be best for me to stick with lower OO recipes as this was the first one that I had any issues with :) No insult to high OO recipes :)

Can someone tell me what is going on here?

Thank you both for your replies. I thought it might be overheating but wanted a confirmation. And thanks for threads up re:80% OO being a true Bastille. After this I will mostly likely stay away from high OO content. Thanks again!

Can someone tell me what is going on here?

Hi! I have a couple identification questions for the experienced soapers here. I am a newbie so I am trying out various recipes to see how different oils, colors, etc work together. I made a 1lb loaf of a Bastille and a few things happened I was just wondering about. My recipe was (ran through...

    2nd CP Soap

I didn't even attempt gel because I am using a small 1 lb silicone mold. I tried gelling my first batch, and it partial gelled since the mold was so small. I am making really small batches right now just to play and get a feel for things. My husband built me a 2lb wood mold to use, and I think I...

    2nd CP Soap

Hi! The numbers from SoapCalc are: Hardness - 44 Cleansing - 20 Conditioning - 52 Bubbly - 20 Creamy - 24 Iodine - 55 I thought I would get a pack of the strips just to use until I become more accustomed to CP soaping, and it will keep me from worrying about Lye. I do think I will be bumping...

    2nd CP Soap

Hi again :) So I tried making CP a second time, and this time I have attached a full picture :) As you can see there are some holes, but I think those are from air pockets? The batter went from no trace to medium trace fairly quickly (but I think that may be because I added the lye water which...

First CP batch - What is this on my soap

ha! I was hooked before I even made my first batch! I am making a second batch tomorrow. I actually just tossed that one because I think I am bothered by the Lavender in the FO I used. As soon as I unmolded I got a major headache, hubby had to get it out of the house. So no more lavender, I will...
