    What scents are in 'solvol'?

Thanks so much! I searched for almost an hour for an ingredient list but kept getting "the manufacturer has provided the full list of ingredients to..." And couldn't find this much information. Sadly they have used the generic 'fragrance' in their description. :(

    What scents are in 'solvol'?

Has anyone discovered an EO blend reminiscent of Solvol that they wouldn't mind sharing? I would like to make a pumice soap and thought it might be fun to take an olfactory trip down memory lane but I have no idea what scents to start with, with the possible exception of eucalyptus. TIA...

    Coffee EO

Sounds like I have Coffee EO in my future.:)

    Coffee EO

Thanks for posting this Alli. Coffee EO is daunting. Sounds like Coffee might be similar to one of my other absolute favourites, Orange EO - expensive and difficult to keep in  If I can source the EO, I think I will try a three pronged approach, coffee infused water, coffee infused...

    Coffee EO

From the tests I did the darkest colour comes from pouring boiling water over fresh coffee grounds. I poured 2 cups boiling water over 1/2 cup fine (espresso) grounds for a couple of hours then filtered through a coffee filter as I didn't want any grit. You might get more colour if you boiled...

Coloring with herbs/plants - use powdered, infuse into oil or are there other ways?

Hope you didn't lose too much time on Pinterest. :-)

Sounds like you have similar planning issues to me. There is always something else taking precedence over what I want to do.

Coloring with herbs/plants - use powdered, infuse into oil or are there other ways?

The only flower I am familiar with for colour is calendula. I haven't tried it though. I have a page on Pinterest with some links to natural colourants if you can be bothered...https://www.pinterest.com/cathwilki/soap-colourants/ Some of them have good info, others, not so much. It is a bit...

I got inspired by Soap making resource and did the same with coffee if it helps. Posted a pic here in the chat about coffee EO. http://www.soapmakingforum.com/showpost.php?p=538799&postcount=14 I need to put them onto a white background and retake the photo so it is clearer. :problem:

    Clay

I recently did some clay tests (not Kaolin on this occasion) and found that some clays encourage things to heat up and speed up. After doing a bit of reading, I suspect they soaked up more of my water than others so the batch reacted as if I had used a water discount compared to my normal...

    Coffee EO

Used grounds certainly do. I should report that one of my tests had a slight coffee scent for a little while. I must have missed it in my first round of sniff tests and it is already gone now. It was from one of the infused oil batches and fortunately it didn't smell like cigarette...

    Coffee EO

I was thinking of something robust, not sweet and maybe with some Orange oil so it would be a good deodouriser and wake up soap. With that combination of scents I may have to try a HP so I can add it late and try to get it to stick. All good fun - and it does keep us off the streets and kind...

    Coffee EO

Hi Alli, If I had ordered it the day I posted the first question I still wouldn't have it. LOL. I'm in country Western Australia and WA stands for wait awhile. I'm not sure if it has been available for a long time or not. I hadn't seen it until I really went looking a few weeks ago...
